I'd think if the T owned even a minuscule bit of Hollywood most of us that've in Hollywood wouldn't be hired to play dead trans people on morgue slabs.

Oh, here's another one - instead of getting stuck playing just corpses, perhaps having one of us playing a trans character that hasnt been murdered would be a nice thing to get used to. First trans person to play a living trans person is apparently gonna be on eastenders - which I hear is a soap, so feel free to pencil in 'mentally ill dead guy' once the novelty wears off.

I understood you, but this thread was not about gay actors. It was about a straight actor playing a gay character who kisses another straight actor portraying his straight best friend. The actors had no problem doing it, but someone had a problem with showing it on the screen.

If the movie is gay-themed, such as Brokeback Mountain or My Beautiful Launderette, then people going into the theatres expect to see what they are about to see. This, however, as far as I know, was simply a same-sex kiss between best friends in an otherwise 'straight' movie.

Someone didn't want that scene in the movie. As in many other instances, it seems that one person's opinion or phobia can make a decision for an entire nation. "Homosexuality is a sin! I don't care what you think! Cut out that scene!"

It's no different that one mother bitching and complaining about the language in Huckleberry Finn to get the book banned from the school library.

I am just so SICK of hearing news of same sex scenes involving a simple kiss or lewdness from actors being cut from the film. When you compare it to the filth of str8 scenes and lesbian situations out there, it is just annoying to me.

I really think Kid Kudi didnt really tell the REAL TRUTH (which we all KNOW but some wont admit) due to backlash from the industry. Only way he could say his truth was that way. CUDOS to him for at least saying something.

I mean common the movie seems about a guy finding his way, dont you think he would do a little experimenting?

I personally feel producers are still afraid of poor box office sales due to homosexual content from their LEAD role ACTORs.

^lets not pretend a lesbian kiss (and other ridiculous depictions) to titillate straight guys is any different from the volume of straight lady writers who focus on badly done m/m erotica depictions in literature. Most of it is crap from both ends.

Once again and I'm going to drop it because this is now a non-factor; Boycott the movie or tv show/producer etc., it's not hard.

I know in this situation, homophobia was probably an issue, but don't think that we are taking steps backward, and we have no control in Hollywood.

You can disagree with me that's fine because I was in denial like you at first, but we do run a big portion of Hollywood, and not everything gay can be showcased.

Even you yourself mentioned that one mother can complain to the school about an inappropriate book and recall or ban it. We can flip the script to our situation and benefit as well.

Let's say LGBT parents want to put up an anti-gay bullying act in the school district. They plead their case at town meetings and school board meetings and their rule will either get passed or it doesn't. I'm sure all of that started due to one parent's situation.

I'm not in denial, nor am I disagreeing with you. From your original post, it came across that you were talking about gay actors and not gay characters.

You must remember, though, that I live in a country where same-sex kisses are not really an issue, either on television or in films. You may not be moving backwards, but you're not advancing at the same pace as much of the rest of the world.

That NPH and plenty of other actors are gay is not the issue. The issue today is why gay kissing scenes should be edited. They're two different subjects, and as long they allow straight kissing(which happens all the time) a serious argument can be made that it's homophobic and discrimatory.
