2020 - What the Fuck next?

What if Trump winning in November will be part of the list of 2020 disasters?

No, his handling of the pandemic and the subversion of the US Constitution resulting in an impeachment trial were his first two "honorable mentions" in 2020.

His third will be his defeat and the mess he will create on his way out, riots, contested election results, and accusations.

In case you're thinking we'd at least get a warning before an asteroid strike, guess again. The closest one has come in our tracking got within 1900 miles and passed us for six hours before NASA ever knew it was on a course with us.

BTW, the one the news is touting as passing near us on November 2nd is not big enough to make it into the lower atmosphere, only six feet across. Might make a spectacular show, however.

They can. I saw one that came in and blew up -- it looked like it was only maybe five hundred meters up when it exploded, but the official reports said it was about ten times that. The size was estimated at about five meters across when it blew, maybe twice that when it hit atmosphere. I was fascinated by it because in three terms of university astronomy I didn't recall anything being mentioned about exploding ones! Its path was a sick greenish color but when it blew up the flash was sort of golden followed by brief streaks of near-white.

Kuli, it sounds like you enjoyed quite the show.

I've rarely seen shooting stars, but even they seem special, no matter how frequently they may be strafing us.

It's interesting that in my memory it lasted three or four seconds, but in reality it was less than one.

Meanwhile, since it's still 2020--

That presumes disasters can be planned for.

I guess they can on a national level, but many things are vanity when an individual tries to prepare.

So whatever did happen to the hurricane on the right, headed to Florida? I heard only about Laura, and not that other one.
Hurricane Marco only made it to Cat-1, and weakened to a minor tropical storm before making landfall near the Mississippi river outlet.

Gucci has perfectly captured 202 in their men's fall fashion line.

It just ended up being your every day thunderstorm here in FL for us Tampa residents.
