I don't think that I'm strong enough to serve in the U.S. military. So, as a patriotic citizen, the next best thing I can do is to support our troops. I make donations to non-partisan organizations such as the "Wounded Warrior Project", and I'm a volunteer for "Soldiers Angels" a non-profit organization that sends care packages to troops deployed overseas. I currently send care packages & letters to a soldier stationed in Afghanistan.

There's pride and self worth to be gained in at least trying.

At the very least you'd have earned the respect of a guy who dances on a box at a Gay bar during the week to earn some extra cash to pay his own way.

its now being reported that the seals were on a rescue mission to another team that was pinned down. They risked and gave their lives to save others in need of help, and that is the greatest gift a human can give to another.

These guys are out there dying trying to have each others backs, and the congress is over here dying to stab daggers into each others backs.

I wonder how better a world we would create if we sent the politicians to fight for a month and let the men on the ground in afghanistan run the senate for a month.

I'm willing to bet shit would get fixed quickly.

Yup, it's tragic it's come to this. However, I along with many others find it morally reprehensible that the Republicans have turned paying for the war they started, authorized payment for, and then shat the bed when the check came due. Paying for the war, providing armor to the troops, paying their inevitable healthcare costs from injuries both physical and emotional, and other such necessities are absolutely essential and a patriotic issue not to be subjected to political charade, yet how has that worked out for the good of our troops?

Being a patriot isn't only about worshipping those who go to die with cheap platitudes while robbing their bodies of any loose change or looking for gold filings.

the men did die, and we don't have the info yet, so saying that it was because of a back lash against Obama for killing Osama is a stretch.

When I went to join the Navy I weighed 116. I had two weeks to gain 2 lbs so I could reach the minimum of 118.
I gained exactly 2 pounds and I think it was what I ate that day I weighed.
I made it through the boot camp and didn't have any problems. Like what was said, he just might lose some of those pounds he thinks he is too fat. He need to join a service or STFU.

They were on a rescue mission. This was no revenge attack. That kind of irresponsible comments are just confusing the whole issue.
