I disagree. Same-sex long term relationships, I believe, are more the norm now than the rest of the world realize. The reason we don't see or hear more about them is that very few of these couples are active in the gay activist community, and therefore pretty much blend into the scenery. My partner & I live in a tiny rural town and rarely go to gay events, clubs, etc. -- we simply don't have the need to, and are content with our lives. I've known several same-sex couples who have been together for more than 50 years. One day, perhaps, when we can have our relationships legally recognized through marriage, will more long-term gay couples be visible.
My best wishes to Cocktales & Ron on their 27th! Bravo!!!
I agree with you. Most of the gay people that I know are coupled together. These people do not normally go to clubs. If you only go to clubs to meet gay people, that is not where you are going to typically see the gay couples. I think that many single gay people sometimes forget that there is more to being gay than going to clubs.
