3 Unexpected Things About You

1. My partner is twenty-five years older than I am. People routinely think he is my father. Depending on the company we are in, we may correct them by saying, "no, but he is my daddy."

I laugh when this happens to me. My husband hates it, hehe!

1. I have more than 1,000 songs, tunes, and pieces of music, in various genres, that I have written and recorded over the years, which I have never played to anyone, not even my closest friends.

I don´t have as many, but I tried everything from soul to rock to dance/chillout. I just have so much fun creating stuff.

Ok, here it goes:

1. I suffered from OCD, now it´s under control, though sometimes I still find myself checking repeatedly if the door is closed in a right way (hard to explain), if the oven is turned off etc. Due to it, I had quite an obsession with various themes such as religion or sex. I learned a lot about religions, even if I´m an atheist, so at least I can engage in different conversations.

2. I almost got raped when I was 6 or so. Luckly, I knew something was wrong and I ran. I supressed the memory for years until I was 20-something and it all came back to me and I finally realized what an horror of a situation that could have been.

3. I lurked for years (I think 2008-2009 or so) on this forum before I finally decided to make an account in 2012. Just like I don´t post too much, I also don´t talk much in real life, but it helped me open up more about many subjects and learn new things. Also made a few friends which at the time I opened my account was a bit difficult for me.

1. The last time I had an asthma attack so bad I had to go to the Hospital the Doctor said I could have died. This was less than 10 years ago.

2. I used to draw and I was pretty good at it, my passion dropped for it when I couldn't get into a school I wanted to that was geared towards art.

3. I haven't had any in a while because I keep the lights on, but because of anxiety if I sleep in the dark I get "false awakenings" which are dreams/nightmares where you think you wake up (because you're where you slept) but are dreaming still. One of the scariest things I ever experienced.

1. I sleep with a lit night light in the hallway. I like my bedroom dark, but I appreciate having a little light to make my way to the bathroom. Since my mid-40s, I do sometimes get up in the middle of the night to pee.

2. I collect network-issued classic TV pictures. I got into it when I went to Toronto, with friends who collect antique movie posters, and we went to this store that specialized in that type of memorabilia. I have a nice collection of American, Canadian, and International publicity photos, most of them with the network blurb or stamped with the network logo on them. I also buy them on ebay.

3. I have a fascination with department stores. I love reading about their histories, their traditions, and collecting recipes from their restaurants and tea rooms. Maybe I will take what I know and write a book, someday.

1. I was told once I sounded like I was from Newfoundland. Not my fault Pa's rural accent is a smidgen similar. I prefer to think of my vocals as an amalgam these days anyway, considered there were two other distinct places I've lived.

2. I'm a bit obsessed with containers. One of my siblings is an apparent genius because every year she gets me a few different boxes. Last time it was a collection of old cigar boxes. I bought her a jewelry box this year but I'm having a hell of a time prying my fingers off it, damnable black and gold box. Been keeping a collection of essential oils in it, should just buy her another one.

3. I really, really miss biking in rural pa. You just haven't lived 'till you're speeding along under your own power, well entrenched in the knowledge that you generally can't see shit but at least you know how to fall.

1. I was told once I sounded like I was from Newfoundland.

When I'm not using my fake American accent, I speak with a sort of Atlantic Canadian accent. My mother is from NFLD so I kinda sound like that. I learned to speak with an American accent when I moved to LA because people kept telling me I sounded "cute."

I can fix a tractor with fence wire and duct tape most of the time.

My real passion would be to be an archaeologist.

When I am with my partner, we can put out streetlights just by walking or driving past.

I managed to whittle mine down to 'Generic American with a bare hint of twang to make it interesting'. The twang part just...shifts itself all over the bloody place.

1. I find life to be boring, nothing holds my attention for very long so i have never had any real hobbies.

2. I have had a number of guns and knifes pulled on me just being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

3. I suffered with OCD for years, i double and triple checked the stove, locks etc. I had to count to my self silently as i did it.
It still troubles me a little now and then, but i don't submit to it.

1. I'm addicted to Disneyland. I have the high-tier/no blackout Annual Pass and I go at least once per month and usually twice. Sometimes I go down on my lunch break, go on one ride and go back to work. When I met Tigger for the first time I actually cried.

I think you'll find this amusing. The same analysis could also apply to Las Vegas, which has--I heard once--more visitors a year than Mecca.

1. My partner voted for Donald Trump.

2. We can't talk politics without him erupting in an inchoate rage so we email each other articles that reinforce our differing opinions.

3. I generally vote Democratic, but I registered Republican so I could vote for liberal Republicans in the primaries in the hope of bringing some sense to the party and making California a two-party state again.

1. I didn't vote this election even though I am passionate about politics.

2. I've never topped even though I am obsessed with twink bottoms.

3. I wear diapers cause they feel fucking great on my dick.

I am sort of a gerontophiliac

I like driving fast and almost crashed three times this year alone.

Someone in a black car tried to kidnap me when I was 8.

These might not be unexpected...but anyhoo....:)
