365 reasons why we're still talking about race

Speaking of murderers, Ahmed Aubrey's killers have petitioned the court to stay in federal custody, fearing for their lives in a GA state prison. I bet Ahmed Aubrey feared for his life too. Well, thoughts+prayers!

A CITY COUNCILMAN. Of course in Texabamassippi. We'll stop talking about these things when they stop happening.

An Alabama city councilman accused of using racial slurs was arrested after punching the town's Black mayor ... and it's all on video.

Police in Tarrant, AL just released the footage ... and cops say the video shows Councilman Thomas Bryant punching Mayor Wayman Newton in the face.

Did you miss the racism scandal in the Los Angeles city council? And can you believe it? It didn’t involve republicans or white people!

That's another problem we need to address: latino/hispanic racism. This latina "patriot" is letting me have it on twitter. she's called me everything except the n word (lazy, uneducated, only vote for dems for free foodstamps, et cetera)

Of course Americans are pulling the "When she said monkey what she ACTUALLY meant was...." card.

I guess she just didn't "ignore the racism" hard enough.

"We have guns and knives and are watching your house. We will be following you."

This is what happens when black people are outspoken. Intimidation tactics up to and including death threats. This is why MLK began to lament integration, wondering if 'they" would ever change. If they could or if they even wanted to.

If I may employ a little humor... I'm not saying I suspect anyone here of sending her those letters but I did call the feds and request that they collect fingerprints so if you get a knock on the door from the authorities, be nice, offer them coffee, they work so hard.

If you're wondering where we are in race relations, 70 years after the civil rights movement and almost a century after WWII, neo nazis are openly declaring tomorrow a national day of hate to march and pass out pamphlets, because we fan find bin laden hiding in the mountains in the middle east but we can't find domestic terrorists publicly recruiting on american soil. but hey, AT LEAST THEYRE NOT WOKE AMIRITE?!?!?!?!

Once again, humor, I'm not saying I suspect any members might participate in this but I won't be surprised if a few of you aren't posting tomorrow :rotflmao: a little levity my friends

WW2: like it never happened.

If I recall correctly, when Abraham Lincoln expressed support for returning emancipated slaves to Africa, it was because he feared that there was no hope of ever getting white Americans to accept Blacks as equals.

It is painful to have to wonder if he was right, at least about his fellow whites.

This is only happening to us. And this is a small fraction of the stories. Sidney Holmes served 34 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit. He contacted the conviction review unit in 2020. Why did it take another 3 years for his release? Paperwork? Is that not the type of matter that should be expedited? Well, have fun footing the bill for the inevitable civil suit, taxpayers.

“A strange set of circumstances” led to Holmes becoming a suspect, the Innocence Project of Florida said: One of the two victims described a car used in the robbery as a brown Oldsmobile Cutlass with a tan top and a hole in the trunk.

Weeks later, the victim’s brother saw a brown Cutlass driving down a road and reported the license plate number to authorities. That car was registered to Holmes, the Innocence Project said.

Holmes had an alibi, and his car had key differences from the perpetrators’ vehicle, his attorneys said.
I can't even describe what it's like to watch Americans hear these stories and the reaction is "so what?"

this is wrong on sooooooooooooooooooo many levels ](*,)

Black man approaches broken-down vehicle of off-duty detective to offer assistance. Let's all take a wild guess how this story ends:

An out-of-court settlement and no jail for the murderer. At best.

^ My first thought exactly. The City will fork over a few million, pension off the detective and the story will become just another footnote.

Sometimes it's a matter of not pretending anymore.

Guy I worked for was racist as hell. Always nice as hell to the mailman, always gave the UPS driver a can of coke or a bottle of water. He got dementia, declined rapidly, then went to a nursing home but had to come back home after a month or so because he wouldn't stop calling the staff you-know-what.

I see this a lot. Especially with wealthy people.
