If terrorists want s to leave the Middle East alone, they're striking the wrong places. They should find out when board meetings are, and blow up the offices of the big defense companies.

No, no, we can't have that!
The defence companies and the whole defence procurement industry represent a super-efficient market much beloved by conservatives - except that it's super-efficient at ripping off the American taxpayer.

I'm sure that for Bush ^ that's not factoring in the daily costs of the Iraq / Afghanistan wars, which were officially (and still apparently are) "off the books."

You are correct that the figures for GWB do NOT include the enormous cost of his wars. Bush kept his wars off the books. He insisted that his wars would be free - oil revenues from Iraq would pay for everything.

However, President Obama has insisted on honesty in accounting, so the figures for Obama DO include the cost of the Bush wars (which is about 10% of the deficit).

"Proof" from a website called News Corpse? [-X

You do not have the skillset to understand the complexity of this issue.

policies have effects beyond the man who sits in the office, and if you really want to ignore that then you have just admitted that I am correct.

You always ignore what you cannot refute.

All the facts are there...

YOU want any of us to believe that the rapist O'Reilly is a truth teller?

yeah right.

You really don't know the difference between cause and effect, do you, laika?

It doesn't matter. Its all there in front of you.

You and your club certainly cannot be trusted to do anything but deny, lie, obfuscate, and post nonsensical things in haiku form.

The haiku club.

how can you negotiate a compromise with a group of people who demand that 100 percent of their demands be met without condition?

That is not compromise. It is not negotiation. It is blackmail.

The Democrats decide to go shopping. They come to a shop run by the House Republicans, and see something they want.

D: How much?

HR: $100.

D: I'll give you $75 -- how's that?

HR: $100.

D: Well, how about $85?

HR: $105.

D: Huh? Okay, $95.

HR: $110.

D: Sheesh -- fine, you can have the $100.

HR: $125.

. . . . .

I agree. You can't negotiate with people unwilling to compromise.

So why does the president keep giving in 100% to their unreasonable demands?

It baffles the mind. Obama is far more akin to a traditional Republican (ie... Ronald Reagan, Nixon, Rockefeller Republican) than he is with any Democrat, much less any Socialist, Leftist, Marxist, FAUX News and Co. strive to liken him with. This is the massive flaw the modern US electoral system has developed. Only "no-names" can be elected whom have only the barest of bare national voting records. Thus one can never be sure how that individual will actually govern.

The SCOTUS nominating process too has adopted this behavior. Our futures are controlled and governed by people who have left no real trail of achievements until they are installed into their ultimate position of authority.

I blame them too.

you'd think, though, that when electing someone proclaimed to be the greatest public speaker in a generation, he'd have the powers to pursued 2 GOP senators to vote with the majority.

people with deep pockets have power, folks

who do you think bank rolls the Tea Party?

correction: President Clinton created a budget surplus

something Reagan, Bush I and Bush II did not

but those GOP president's did send big buck to their friends in defense contracting

and anyone remember Haliburton?
