47% of Americans Are Idiots

I'll tell you who's an idiot. Those people's editor. That was the most illiterate non-teabagger-produced article I have ever read.

Here is the beggining of the article:

A poll of 1,001 American voters has found that almost half believe being gay is something people choose.

The research found that 47 per cent of respondents thought homosexuality was a choice, while 46 per cent opposed gay marriage.

It was carried out by polling institute Angus-Reid.

Fifty-three per cent of respondents in this poll approved of the measure, while 37 per cent were opposed and ten per cent were undecided.

What "measure" are they talking about? They don't reference it before ore again.

I think the title is misleading. Only 1,001 Americans were surveyed which is not half of Americans.
 
I find it interesting that in another article on that site 61% of Brits actually support gay marriage.

If that is accurate, it would seem most Brits are more accepting of gay marriage than most Americans

Judging by the amount of closeted "no one knows" bisexuals who frequent this site, one could speculate that nearly half the population is bisexual to some degree. That might explain all those who are so certain that being gay (attracted exclusively to ones own sex) is a choice. For the bisexual, I guess, there is in fact that degree of choice. Those who are most adamant about gay being a choice are usually religious fundamentalists. They, no doubt are bisexuals who choose to only act upon their opposite sex attractions (at least in public). I mean how else could they be so sure? That's fine for those who claim to have that choice. Who am I to judge?:rolleyes: I'm gay and have no choice as to which sex I'm attracted to. So I've come to the conclusion that it no longer surprises me that so many people believe that homosexuality is a choice.

My psychologist says that all humans are bisexual, but 95% haven't figured it out yet.

Actually, what surprised me about the poll was that the number is less than half -- that's progress!
