The press is being irresponsible, as is the state for revealing the details of the murder. This type of gore is not relevant to the prosecution of the murder. The judge should have sealed the evidence after sentencing to keep the family from having to endure all the publicity of this horror.

It should suffice to simply state the victim was stabbed to death and the body desecrated. The details are salacious.

And, as always, the killer should be executed promptly.

I disagree.
People what to do how he killed. We all adults, if your mind is not strong enough, don't use the internet and go and live in the garden of Eden.
 
That's awful you never know who would meet and something like that to happen
 
Some people may consider it relevant that the perpetrator suffered from paranoid schizophrenia and other mental illnesses.

Mental health services are a mess, and the therapies available for schizophrenia in particular are lacking.
 
It is news stories like that which scare me away from the idea of the hook up apps...
 
^Are you suggesting that your actions are in some way a result of the health of your brain?

That's what I'm suggesting.

The perp's criminality can't be dismissed.

But, the proper therapy for a person with mental illness is probably not to leave them untreated and unsupervised, only to relegate them after they have fully lost it to non-medical incarceration and then execution.

In the US, violent schizophrenics are often left to their own devices.

I don't think so. It says he was stabbed in the back. That is rarely fatal, is it? Moreover, he may not even have died quickly when his throat was slit. That can also take quite a while. And Nothardup1 is right. We should not have known the details.

Back in the police academy, they brought in plenty of experts and doctors to teach us about a lot of things. One common theme that kept coming up was that it is not easy to kill a person. And most of the time people don't die right away even if they were stabbed fatally. The human body is a very resilient thing. The body will fight tooth and nail to stay alive.

For example, Aaron Trejo (football player) wanted to kill his pregnant girlfriend. His confession and forensics showed that e stabbed his 6 months pregnant girlfriend several times to try to kill her instantly. He even put one thru her heart. She was still alive. So he tried to strangle her. Still no go. He eventually did her in by putting a bag over her face.

See, movies are deceptive about that. In movies, it is so easy to break someone's neck. Every shot kills them instantly. And people die instantly from every knife wound. that's just not real life. It takes a while for a person to bleed out. Even when the vital organs fail, the body will redirect resources to keep the brain alive.
 
He may have been alive after the stabbing, but unconscious. At any rate, I don't think the general public is entitled to such intimate knowledge.

It's a bit like someone's death in a hospital. I don't care if you're a celebrity or a street bum, when you die, the reasons and causes are private affairs, and the world isn't entitled to learn that detail.
