Problem: 60-65% taxes on Company income in Sweden
If you make 180 000 on the side for an app you sell
You'll end up with less then half of it after taxes. Kinda...breaks...my..spirit.

Solution:
Offshore account
Problem: Illegal

A friend said leave the country and go to some other country like, Dublin, but the problem is most European countries got high taxe rates....

So ehm.. what to do :/

Well, you'll like America. We have idiot modest means Americans worried about how much the rich are being taxed.

Since they're the majority, tax increases will always be taboo. Even if it means giving the young people (our future) health care, they're against taxes.

Well Sweden has high taxes but you also have free health care and free education and other things like that. In the US we have lower taxes, but I also have more than $50k in student loan debt that I wouldn't have in Sweden etc.

Every country has different ideas about what the role of government should be. But yeah if you want lower taxes where you also pay for more for other things, then maybe you should consider moving elsewhere.

Yes, taxes are high in Sweden and other Scandinavian nations. But what do you get in return?

Excellent public health system.
Excellent public education system.
One of the highest life expectancies in the world.
One of the lowest infant mortality rates in the world.
Low pollution levels
High quality-of-life indicators: Rated No 5 "most liveable nation" in the UN index
Relatively high income rates
32 weeks paid maternity leave for mothers
25 days paid vacation each year
Same sex marriage and adoption are legal

Love your country. Pay the tax.

Billions would love to live in Sweden.
And I guarantee, they wouldn't complain about the taxes.

I earned my health care and everything else I have. I should not be your Sugar Daddy and GIVE you .

Wanna trade places? :D Is there such a thing as a "citizen exchange"? I'd love to pay 60% tax rate to get to live in a great place like Sweden. Beats this dump I'm living in now. Sigh, crazies all around me here.

Yes! We must all remember that there are much better and more comprehensive services on the other side of those European taxes!

Yeah, those slacker toddlers who are born into poor families really deserve what they get.

There are some people that will take advantage of health care. They will always be there milking the government for money no matter what system we have.

Yeah, those are a lot of pros. 25 days paid vacation each year?! That's nearly an entire month!
But paying a lot of taxes is hard. Just look at the positive side!

I would love to live in Sweden. No problem with the taxes. I agree with Joe Biden - paying taxes is patriotic.

Taxation is theft.

My advice to the original poster is to move to Hong Kong, Singapore, Monaco, or another country that has lower taxes.

Yes, because the Swedish government is taxing its people and doing nothing for them in return...

Oh wait. Nevermind....

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

If I stole a percentage of your income from you every year, and gave you coupons to eat at Red Lobster, Olive Garden, and McDonalds in the place of your money... would that not still be theft? Your money is being used to finance something that you otherwise might not have a demand for. And to add insult to injury, there are millions of middlemen who are employed by the government to direct your money - and they demand a price, also.

The so-called "middlemen" is another issue. As for the taxes, would you rather pay for a school that is only as good as your money could buy? What about federal grants and loans for higher education? Should people have to pay higher interest rates to private banks in order to gain an education, effectively making the best schools in the nation available only to the rich? What about firemen and policeman? Should their job and effectiveness fit within a certain price bracket? Once you reach 85 and have no job, no Social Security, and are unable to take care of yourself, should you have to do without expensive medication that you nor your family could afford? What if you lived in a poor area, and the residents were unable to pay for good road services or your family were unable to afford food?

These are a lot of "what if's" so I'll try to cover them.

First, keep in mind that without taxes everyone would be far richer. There are taxes layered on taxes, wrapped in taxes, smothered in tax-cream... so it's impossible to see the true cost of things. But a rough estimation is that your income would be between 12 and 60% higher, and goods/services would cost between 8 and 50% less.

Second, remember that other hidden tax called inflation. The government is constantly degrading the value of your savings by printing trillions of dollars and giving it to banks and the military.

The common fear that without public schools, we'd only be left with expensive "rich kids" private schools isn't founded in reality. That's like saying that if we weren't all provided with Yugos by the government, we'd only be able to choose between Lexuses and Bentleys. In a free market for education, there would be schools to cater to poor children.

Federal grants/loans for higher education are meaningless. Remember that when I trade your dollars for Olive Garden coupons, Olive Garden knows you no longer have a choice about where you can spend your money - so it can safely raise its prices. In the same way, universities that get government money know they are safe raising tuition. You'll notice the cost of attending college has gone up faster than inflation over time. That's because of scholarships, ironically.

Once I reach 85 (assuming I make it that far!) I'd hope that I've saved enough money to be able to pay for my own expenses... but if I have loving family and friends, I'm sure they'll help me out. Why is my medication expensive? By the time I hit 85, technology will have progressed so far that medicine will be phenomenally better and cheaper. I'm an optimist here.

If I lived in a poor area and we didn't have good roads, I'd get a job in a nicer city and pay the tolls for their roads! Or I'd gather investors to build a road leading to my hometown, and eventually that investment would pay off. Just like a municipal bond.

I'm not going to go into your first couple of paragraphs, because that's another discussion entirely. I do agree that the tax system we have needs improvement. It's not perfect, but in my opinion it's a necessary evil.

There would be schools to cater to the poor, but who would build and fund them? I'm assuming it would be the families that have children attending them. Would those people be able to afford the same sort of institution that the wealthy would? Would they be able to buy the same scientific equipment, or sports equipment?

The cost of tuition has gone out of control, but do you have a source for the reason behind it? It'd be interesting to see the study. Regardless, federal grants are important. Because tuition has risen so much, a student can be leave school with a debt well over $100,000. Some students have a families that are able to help them out, but for those with no support, they have to pay for EVERYTHING out of pocket. Some people do not qualify for private grants (I was one), but are able to receive federal grants.

If you reach 85 and are able to do without aid, then that's great. What about those that have no children and no extended family? What about those that were NOT able to save enough money? If someone at the age of 85 is suffering from cancer and want to live, how will they pay the bills? Not everyone is in your situation.

As for moving to a better area, if it were so easy to uproot yourself and find a good job in a good area, then why doesn't everyone do it? Do they want to stay in a bad neighborhood? There will always be people at the bottom of the economic ladder. We shouldn't provide them with everything, but they should have access to the same quality education, protection, and health services as everyone else.

I'm not sure I understand why people are against universal health care, you're paying for it anyway (privately) along with medicare and medicaid (taxes). Admittedly I don't know if these programs exist in places with universal health care, but I assume they are not necessary and the people who once handled these cases would be migrated into the new program along with many of the claims adjusters working privately. At least if you pay the government that money instead of some private company that may/ may not cover your illness you're seeing some benefit of programs you wouldn't normally qualify for and most assuredly won't even be half as decent by the time we're 80. It would also get rid of some of these multimillion dollar law suits that pop up every so often for wrongful death due to non payment (increased insurance premiums).

Nobody really wants to pay for the guy down the street, but at least I know when they or their children get their shit together they're paying for me or my crack whore of a granddaughter. (I don't really have a crackhead granddaughter, she is a whore though lol, but I'm assuming I would still care for the inevitable black sheep that pop up in everyone's families)
