I am finally going through my 12" collection and gonna try to thin it out...I got a lot of promos I never even listened to...but I have been listening to stuff...some I haven't heard in 20-30 years instead...

Gonna post my favorites (if I can find them on YouTube)

John Davis & the Monster Orchestra...Ain't That Enough For You (1978)

This Time Baby...Jackie Moore (1979) ...BTW....1978-79 were probably the best years for gay disco...along with 1983 and possibly 1987

EastofEden,
I just realized I watched your 'namesake' yesterday . . the movie East of Eden (James Dean) he he

I dont think we attended the same clubs. I only know French Kiss

I took all our LP's which included 300 Disco Records and needless to say loads of others and put them on my IPOD CD's and everything Mozart ever wrote have 9300 [pieces of Music it would take 24 days to hear it all.

Yeah....I love Steinbeck and EastofEden was my favorite book (long before Oprah found out about it..| )....

I think we attended the same clubs..I just dug into the bin a little farther back...I think I am older than you:mrgreen: When did you start going to clubs?

Betcha know this one....

It's Raining Men...Weather Girls (1983)

OK...1976...Oil Can Harrys on Larkin Street and The Mind Shaft on Market Street (SF)....

The songs I remember the most in gay clubs...

Love Machine...The Miracles

More More More...Andrea True

Gonna Let My Heart Do The Walking...Supremes

...and the REAL Queen of Disco

Love Hangover...Diana Ross

...and speaking of The Miracles...one of the first songs that addressed gay men and homosexuality..|.....

Ain't Nobody Straight in LA...the Miracles (1975)

..and then in 1977...Motown released this

I Was Born This Way...Carl Bean (1977)...if you never appreciated this or listened to it...it was a great accomplishment in 1977

..

High Energy...Evelyn Thomas (1984)

(Side note...I actually had no idea just how many disco 12" singles and LPs I had...it has been awhile since I visited that part of my collection...DAMN!)
