It a typical "honeymooner" poll.

What is the point of this post???

Kinda tough to judge somebody who hasn't done a days work in a new job. But if it makes you feel better, Alfie, more power to you!

Now jack, you guys are already blaiming Obama for not curing cancer and ending Bush's failed war, a war you support. And your side of the dark-matter universe is already slapping their beet-red tits, demanding that Obama IMMEDIATELY end all Republican gay-hating regulations, a regime you support, even though, as you acknowledge, he's not in office yet.

Now, had you read the article, jack, instead of heaving your bodice, burning your bra, stomping your Prada heels and dashing off a weak post, you'd note that the poll specified "president elect," not president.

That help ya get up to speed?

As you wish. President Elects have absolutely no responsibility. So again, it's kinda tough to judge a guy either way when he hasn't done jack shit.

Oh and BTW, I hate to tell you, we won the war in Iraq, despite the dims best efforts to ensure we lost. The surge worked. Just that Obama can't admit that he was wrong.

What do you call winning in Iraq with 100,000's of Iraqis have died?

Is it time to move the goal posts again?

Remember it was overthrowing Saddam? Now it's somethin' else.

Interesting how this percentage of Americans believe something when nobody of the many people I know or are acquainted with had a clue this poll was even conducted. I just asked two people online from different parts of the country and they had no idea either.

Besides, how can I see someone who hasn't done anything as a strong leader? Ask me again when he has taken office and has had a chance to show whether or not he is a good leader.

As for the poll...I'll believe it when I see myself and everyone around me at the very least aware of the poll. Until then, I'll go by what I see and hear and the polls can continue to say whatever the poller wants them to.

But if the poll was done by FoxNews, the results would most likely be different. A biased news organization isn't the way to get an accurate "opinion," so I take all of it with a grain of salt.

^ Sorry, did I type too fast for ya?

The problem is trying to figure out where you're telling the truth, making stuff up, or just plain lying.
For example, Ronald Reagan was no draft dodger; he joined the reserve on his own and reported when he was called up.

I remember when Bush had 80% approval ratings.... Americans are like coke heads, short memory span and never get long term satisfaction.

Well, not all Americans, just a lot, and that all over the political spectrum.

So now the winning of a war is predicated on how many of the enemy we may kill? Listen, I'll tell you a secret. Winning a war consists of capturing the flag, removing the government we find offensive, and in the case of the US, installing a government that you are more enamored with. Winning hearts and minds is nice, but not necessary to declare victory. But we've even managed to make headway on that score.

We've got it all. Game set match.

to use the obama-bots own mantra "He is not the president yet, i'll judge him when he takes office"

in the mean time he can golf and rent million dollar planes & mansions while commoners suffer in USA

Must be nice ..|

99% of Americans have yet to see him lead anything.

Lexington. Gargoyle by birth, statistician by trade. You'd be surprised how little data is needed to get a good picture of how a large group of people thinks.

My friends aren't smart becuase they weren't involved in a poll? How can one be involved in something one does not know exists?

How does intelligence relate to not being informed of the existence of a poll? Were we all just supposed to say "Hey, maybe there is a poll on whether or not Obama is a strong leader. Let's go find it!"?

I fail to see how the intelligence of people I know is related to this.

And at least they can defend their stance without attacking and/or insulting people.

And to Lexington: I also know from experience that polls can be easily be manipulated depending on what the poller wants. Like at my previous college, where they polled only the people who eat in the little food area they have on whether or not a large cafeteria was a good idea and claimed that a representative polling of the student body showed overwhelming demand for a cafeteria.

That's one of the lamer grasps of polling that I've ever seen.

It's a poll, not a census. ](*,)

Alfie gets a little sloppy in his terminology sometimes. I think it comes from doing so much insulting and degrading, pretending it's "satire".

I have met people, BTW, who maintain that if there's something I don't know, it's my fault. The problem there is that I'd have to be capable of omniscience to meet their standard.... :help:

As the OP reports, Obama has the numbers Reagan had when he came into office and Bush had after 9/11.

For those who understand the results of Reagan's and Bush's "accomplishments," this may be cause more for concern than celebration.

Obama is well liked right now

as he should be

we should all be positive about his upcoming presidency

and give him a chance ;) to succeed

i hope that he does

and i would def say at this point he is a "strong leader" as evidenced by his "leadership" to win the dem primary and the general

plus he is a good speech maker which suggests strong leadership qualities

real soon it will be "go time" and we will have presidential examples of leadership

and to reiterate .................... i hope he is successful in that regard
