Yes, Francois Ozon is openly gay.

And Josie, I had a feeling you had seen this film when you posted the original version of "Papa, t'es plus dans l'coup." I also posted a video of "Pour ne pas vivre seul" in the confessions thread. :)

And yes, I adore this film. I've even taught it in a course on representations of gender in French/Francophone lit and film.

I liked 8 Femmes; but my favorite fairly recent French confection is a farce-thriller called Bon Voyage. Isabel Adjani looks amazing and there's a hot guy in it, too, Grégori Derangère. The Nazi-Jew part of the plot is kind of trite, but it's such a pretty movie ...
