This is the second time that I have had "nurseboy269" as a registered username on this site. The former was member #989...I joined back when the site was LMAO (Aug 2003)...and when you posted something in "Everything Under the Sun"...it often took 2-3 days to get a reply. My, have things changed.

I use to love posting in CE&P...there was great debate and a wide, diverse range of opinions. There will always be sour cookies, but in general, there was great respect for others despite differing opinions. I feel that individuality and our differences of thought and opinions is the sole driving force of progress. There is no change without dissent.

I may refer to myself as "Republican", but certainly "moderate conservative" is far more accurate. Some of my major views fall to the right, some to the left, but a majority fall right in the middle. I am, however, a registered Republican, but only because I prefer to vote in their primary. I live in a red state, and my districts are almost always red...the only time your voice is really heard is during the primary...the Republican will most certainly win, why not vote on which one will get it?....

I look forward to many posts and debate in this sub forum...I can see now that there are already a variety of views.

My spelling sucks: I own that. If your only major complaint with one of my posts is an attack on my spelling, please do not expect any acknowledgement on my part.

Okay. Welcome . . . what . . . back? Or are you a regular who's just suddenly changed his name? Whatever. Come on in. Stay awhile.

I guess I'll give you a pass for now on being a Republican. You're a Republican about like Chance is a Democrat. Even I was a Republican for two years for a similar reason.

I joined in 03...deleted my account in the beginning of 07 (was tired of some really closed minded hate filled bashing that was going on with some members and their "fans"....joined again at the end of 08 but really haven't been that active. I have used the same name both times...no change.

Republican is just another label, as if we need more of them. You will find that I can see the pros in arguments on both sides, and generally form my opinions taking multiple arguments and points of view into consideration.

I am pro-life....against big government (but feel it is crazy to think that we can or should deregulate or decrease oversight to the extent that some want or have done)...I am for extensive entitlement reform (reviewing and restriction of qualifications, drug testing, limitations, and for vocational training to get people off welfare...cheaper to train and have them a productive member of society then to foot their bills forever, increase taxes on those that use government services to help fund them)...in most cases I support the use of military action (with Bush as well as Obama and many before them)....I am for term limits on congress...I am for equal rights for ALL couples same-sex or not but have no problem with redefining marriage as between one man and one women (the legal rights and protections are what is important...I see no point to be hung up on a label, but if we REALLY need one, I would go for "joining"...I like that)...I am against and tax payer monies going to fund any ILLEGAL immigrant services, but have no problem with those wanting to immigrate legally...I feel that we should take measures to eliminate the whole "Anchor baby" issue (make it to where one parent has to be a citizen or they get deported)....etc etc, I am sure other views will surface as they are addressed.

Welcome ....back, I guess. Anyway, if you are concerned with spelling, there is a spell check function. It's on the upper right side of the box a blue check mark with ABC just above it.

Well, I've been a member for a long, long time. I'm not sure whether it was LMAO when I joined, but I was lurking back then. I didn't find my voice until after you left, so you won't remember me.

On issues, you will find me on the other side on almost every single issue you've mentioned here. I'm an FDR-LBJ Democrat. I don't think I've ever seen a big-ass government program I didn't like, and I'd like to see a tax structure modeled on that of the early 1950s to fund it. I love bureaucracy. I admire career politicians. I think America should be more generous and welcoming. As for the social issues, I suppose I'm pretty predictable about those, too. I think that I represent a center-left view within the context of this board.

It's good to meet you. I'll expect to see you here often.

Welcome back! A "pro-life" homo? LOL!

Oh well, just another male, who will never face having to deal with an unwanted pregnancy, to tell every female how she needs to deliver that child to a country that doesn't give a shit about homeless children, or children's health.

;)

Not really

It seems stuck in my head that he died in Cuba, though.

No, we was arrested in Cuba for causing a ruckus in a bar. He was in jail for more than a year until his lawyer got him out and returned him to the Czech Republic.

Ahh

well that was it then. Sorry for the mistake there.

I have three kids...and last time I checked, it takes more than a female to get pregnant...the father has no say?

Like everything else...sex has consequences (i.e. pregnancy)...if you are not ready to deal with the possibility of having a child, perhaps you are not ready for sex.

Oh..I'm sorry...I must have skipped the chapter in my dick-sucking handbook that said I had to be pro-choice.

Bottom line, I respect the law...abortion is legal...you want to go kill your baby, I am not going to stop you, but I sure as hell don't have to like it.

I'm fairly certain a lot of "fathers" are happy to have that parasite sucked out of the womb. Considering you have no standing on what those "fathers" desire, you go on to make a backwards 'moral' pronouncement. Considering there are other options than to have that mass become something resembling a human over the course of 10 months, (imo the earlier the better), then the concern for pregnancy shouldn't have to depend too much on the false 'refrain from sex' creed. Amazing of all, you top it off with the pro-choice stance despite using the wrong word--- babies, by definition, cannot be aborted ... your post was a rollercoaster ride. Thanks! ..|

My point on the first part was, if it takes two to create life, it should take one to end it (in response to the "what a women decides..."). But I agree with your point...I am sure most fathers wouldn't mind...and to me, that is just as sad.

It is not a pro-choice stance, it is a respect for the law...I see the two as differing.

Because I choose to believe that that life is a baby, does not mean that it is the wrong word...it apparently is for you, and you have the right to your belief/opinions...differing beliefs is not evidence that either is wrong, merely it is evidence that they are differing.

You start with an emotionally laden term, mislabel logic as "a backwards 'moral' pronouncement, and mischaracterize his argument.

Pregnancy is a known side-effect of sex. Being ready to deal with the side effects of an activity is part of maturity.

Part of that maturity is recognizing that the other partner in the activity has a share in the outcome. If he wants to waive that interest, that's his business -- but as long as the organism in question has his DNA, its destiny is part his decision.

Perhaps...

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&defl=en&q=define:baby&sa=X&ei=EE-STb_ZF4TC0QGX-enMBw&ved=0CBQQkAE By definition, a baby is "a very young child (birth to 1 year)". And thus if it is aborted it is not born and BY DEFINITION is not a baby.

I love that link.....you must have missed the 4th one down on the list

an unborn child; a human fetus; "I felt healthy and very feminine carrying the baby"; "it was great to feel my baby moving about inside"

Kulindahr, those are a lot of accusations without any reason. Kindly clarify? Dealing with a side effect by having an abortion is just as viable as dealing with the side effect of getting cancer from smoking by having chemotherapy.

If that's what the 'authors' of the 'side effect' agree to, fine, so long as they don't wait until the unborn is plainly human, i.e. with sufficiently complex brain waves to be an independent self.

And if the potential father says "I don't want to know", then the decision belongs to the potential mother, and no one else.
