A 'different' type of healthy thread!

Everyone posts the "how do I lose weight' threads, and I have been guilty of it myself.

Although I am not a twink/stud/god-body person, I take a good look at myself before I shower. Got to just check everything out for problems and such.

Today, I can actually see it...I am losing weight! ..| (!)

Not much, but it is beginning to be visible.

I did not take drastic measures. Just a few changes in habits:
  • Very little soda
  • Simple, general exercises (i.e. stairs instead of elevator)
  • Lots of water (actually Crystal Light)
  • Juice ( I bought a juicer)
  • No snacks (well, only healthy ones)

Just wanted to share a happy post. Give me more encouragement, and I will keep y'all posted.:D
 
Quite the opposite...I am using it more and more. Although last night I was called into wrk and could not fix any juice :(
 
There are a lot of calories in juice (as much as soda) so you still have to be careful. But hey, whatever works for you.
 
No gym?

Everybody should keep up with exercise to maintain their fitness. Looking better is just a side benefit.
 
I eat oatmeal with a warm apple mixed in it everyday. It fills you up,lowers cholesterol,and has fiber. It also is maintaining my weight in between working out. I lost 30 lbs from Jan-April and am now taking a workout break.I actually had to take a break cause trying to workout in the summer in Phoenix is so hard!!! I lived in Ohio and never stopped working out but the heat here is a killer. Though tonight is my night to start again for the second leg of weightloss. I only have about 10lbs to go though everyone says 5 or 6 would be good enough. I never took a break before or ate oatmeal but the oatmeal really kept me from pigging out. Give it a try. And if you hate oatmeal I completely understand cause I always did to. But adding the apple and some splenda made all the difference.It is almost like a desert.
 
I LOVE oatmeal! Even plain.

My cholesterol, oddly enough, is in excellen shape. But oatmeal is very filling, and healthier than a lot of other stuff.
 
I eat oatmeal every day I work and god I'm getting sick of it. I also find that it doesn't fill me up or make me last longer. I still get hungry a couple hours later.
 
Drinking water consistently throughout the day also helps you lose weight. You don't store as much fat because your body knows it's getting the things it needs.

8 glasses a day. Though I rarely even have that much...

congrats!

good idea to eat better now because in a few years when your metabolism changes as it does for us all you will be better prepared

working out should be here, as someone else mentioned - it burns calories but better yet it improves health a lot

I end up peeing all day and night long!!! I have really cut my fluid intact cause I'm sick of peeing! I could go 6 times in an hour! it drives me nuts!
