A Eulogy For Steve Jobs From his Sister

It's really odd to me that people were so 'upset' over a CEO of a company passing away. Even when there are reports about how shitty he treated people in his company, but I guess that is what happens when you're a 'face' for a company.
What a cold-hearted, cruel and generally bitchy thing to say in the wake of the passing of an obviously gifted man.

His Sister's eulogy brought tears to my eyes. A touching celebration of life, and unique perspective on the inevitability of death.

But, I suppose that was lost on you.

I already read it.

I found his last words a bit confusing if I'm being honest. What's he saying "Oh wow" to? Nothing? Heaven? Hell?

They should make an app for this.

Agree.

He was not the only gifted man ever to die. Sad for him and condolences to his "family." The point, however, is that Apple has turned his demise into a very profitable subsidiary.

In an era of PC everywhere, we too quickly look until we find whatever excuse we need to disparage someone who is not our mirror image or clone. [portion deleted]

Whether you liked him or not, his sister's eulogy was poignant. [portion deleted]

Now, bitch on, if you must.

First, I hardly pretend that Jobs or I, one of the other, are mirror images or clones, each worthy of disparagement by the other.

Second, the function of an eulogy is to be poignant - even for someone who refused to meet his biological father.

Third, I am not bitching. If I had a "bitch" for/with him my language would not be so restrained and decorous. And there would be no doubt of it.

^ This was the original point of my post.

I fully realize that Jobs was far from being a saint, but his Sister's words, I thought, were beautifully written.

If I failed to make that clear - my apologies.

I won't be surprised when I read reports of a woman praying to the bust of Steve Jobs and having her lung cancer miraculous eradicated in the next few years.

The only thing I like about the eulogy is that it was written rather personally.
