wanted to start a thread of your favorite scene in a movie that stands out that made that movie special for you. i have many favorite scenes in many movies but the one i have today is Gypsy [1962] starring rosalind russell & natalie wood. my favorite scene is when tessie tura, miss electra, and mazappa [bugle girl] try to teach natalie wood the fine art of stripping. the second scene i love is when natalie first comes out on the stage as "gypsy rose lee" and the class act she turns "stripping" into. ---- what are your favorite scenes?

Elizabeth Taylor as Martha in Whose Afraid of Virginia Woolf? when she turns to George (Richard Burton) as she enters the kitchen and waves her hand saying in a bad Bette Davis impersonation - "What a dump!" Have watched the movie more than a dozen times and always love that scene. In fact the whole movie directed by Mike Nichols is superior to anything that is being done today.

i think we see the real elizabeth taylor in this movie, my favorite taylor movie really. seems like every other scene is so powerful it hit you square between the eyes. its been years since i've seen it, got to see it again soon.

bw92116, you picked my most favorite movie & scene of all times, east of eden. jo van fleet won an oscar that year, mainly for that scene. you have good taste for film looking at your list. my second fav scene in that movie is when cal [james dean] is asking the barmaid [lois smith] where his mom's room is in the whore house.

The scene in the first X-Men movie when Magneto/Erik and Charles Xavier are talking in the glass building. Charles wants to know what Erik is planning since Erik has given up on humanity.
Prof. Charles Francis Xavier: Don't give up on them, Erik.
Magneto: What would you have me do, Charles? I've heard these arguments before.
Prof. Charles Francis Xavier: That was a long time ago. Mankind has evolved since then.
Magneto: Yes, into us.
It just had that whole duality to it, you don't know which one is the monster which one is the wise man, or if neither are one or they are both.
