I signed on to Ad Blocker, thinking it was genuinely and forever free (like AVG). It worked beautifully, but only for 30 days, after which there is an allowed 200 blocks per day. That 200 tally is used up in about 15 minutes of normal surfing, so it's nearly worthless. I deleted it.

So is there a 'free' ad blocker out there?

I'm on IE8 and I like IE, and I do not want to switch to another browser.

Well there are free ad block plugins but it's not for Internet Explorer. That's why a lot of people switch to Google Chrome or Firefox.

IE has the "InPrivate" function since version 7, which can be used as an adblocker. Search for tutorials on how to use it.

Still, switch to another browser.

I've been using AdBlocker for several years now. I must have a freebie version then. It's never stopped working and it's never asked me for a single penny.

Get Mozilla Firefox, it's like Internet Explorer, only safer. Next, get AdBlock Plus add-on (it's free 100%) and it also never expires.

Some people really enjoy Google Chrome...you could try that if you like.

Another web browser that is similar to IE is called Maxthon. It is based on the Internet Explorer engine and this browser is of course free too.

I personally converted to Firefox years ago and I haven't looked back. I tried Chrome and it was speedy, but I didn't stick with it because of it's lack of add-ons that I wanted.
