I really find it quite offensive when other men immediately say NO to having sex with HIV+ men. I have been having fantastic great safe sex with my HIV+ partner for over 10 years and I have not been infected. How can we stop theis stigma attached to HIV when we can't even stop it amongst ourselves. A virus is a virus and does not make the person who has it any worse then someone who doesn't. They still have needs and feelings like the rest. Practice safe sex, don't be stupid.![]()
Well said. For a gay site, I'm amazed at the ignorance, attitudes and prejudices shown towards fellow members of our community - not just with regard to HIV/AIDS, but also with regard to bisexuality, our fetishes, racial and cultural differences.I will happily respect a person's decision provided it is based on rational reasoning. I find it offensive when the decision is based on ignorance, irrational fear or prejudice. As I said earlier, nowadays the only person in control of whether or not you become HIV+ is yourself.I wouldn't be so offended by it if I was you. You must respect the autonomy of every person. Each person has the right to do with their bodies what they will. Personally, I would never have sex with a person known to be HIV+. I could have an HIV+ person as a friend, but sex with that person is out of the question for me.

the hiv-phobia here is really sickening.... especially for a gay site.
