A "cure" would imply that being gay is a sickness or disease which it, most definitely, is not. Being gay is a trait. Most likely a genetic trait. Any 'mo who believes that gayness is a condition that can and should be cured needs to turn in their gay card and live in self-denial for the rest of their lives.

It was considered a disease (or abnormality) by the AMA until about 1970, at which point it was taken off the list of things that needed o be cured. I personally didn't find the clip particularly funny, especially since I have memories before 1970.

I thought it was hilarious, excellent satire totally takes the piss out of the conversionists. The only people who might get get pissed off at it would be the conversionists themselves. Come on Piggy try and see the funny side of something.
 
Yes, funny stuff; but what if it was decided that being Gay is a mistake; almost like having a baby with some ailment that causes Doctors to want to abort a fetus???

Experts say that, in theory, the “straightening” procedure on humans could be as simple as a hormone supplement for mothers-to-be, worn on the skin like an anti-smoking nicotine patch.

Now, I don't think this is funny at all...

I mean, I think being Gay is NOT a mistake, NOT just a hormonal imbalance/chromosonal imbalance, etc....

If you give some of these Hitlertonians just a little info that perhaps being Gay can be changed/altered, then just watch these kinds demand the "gay test" be performed during early pregnancy so that a change can take place!!!

I support scientific research for its own sake.
I suppose it could reveal how to enhance male-to-male bonding among the gay-disabled [that is to say, those unable to be "gay"].
(???should we say homosexually-challenged???)
Then guys could partner with each other more closely if they liked the idea.
That would be great especially in over-populated countries.
I'm just re-hashing some recent speculative thoughts on the subject.
This kind of research might lead to cures for rapists, etc., or at least relate to such cures.

But only, to be sure, in a society in which most everyone has finally crawled out from under their rock.

Which is Jon Stewart's point, Ex-gay people are dumb. Jon reflects that feeling on many of his shows. Jon and Lewis Black love going after the gay haters with vengence. I love them for that.
 
Loved the Clip - but there is a serious side.

It seems they'll never find a way to "cure" people that are gay - but its not so unlikely that they might find a way to stop babies being born gay.

From what I've read - part of being attracted to the same sex seems to be connected to maternal hormone levels while a baby is developing - rather than DNA. Though maybe no one is either totally hetro or totally gay.

The sooner we all stop acting like a disabled group the better - if we're glad to be how we are then maybe the pressure to eliminate our kind of "birth defect" won't be so bad.

I'm hoping to grow up to be a real hot daddy one day - be a shame if they cut off the supply of younger gay guys!
 
This is stupid. Who gay man does not want to be gay. If they have this cure do not have it for me.[-X
