Who said he was gay? I went to a show taping and if I knew that I would have hit on his ass.

do straight guys even compete on any of the idols??? i think the only straight guy that was on an idol was Clay Aiken. :p

Lol, to quote(not sure if exact) Mulroney asked him something about the song and why he picked it, and I believe he said "Well, there was a guy, and I just had to let him go."

Anyway, he deserved to win, he's very talented.

Since when is Archuleta gay? Do you think that crazed stage father of his (who signs autographs) would allow his son to be gay? It would hurt his career. Thats a dad who would not have that
His dad isn't a stage dad. I've personally met David, his dad, his mom, and pretty much his whole extended family. I've also heard from people who know them well. They are all very nice people. He signs autographs because the fans want him to, he's trying to accommodate them. He would be called a meanie if he refused lol. What the media portrayed him as was not even close to accurate. They just wanted to stir up controversy. It's actually kinda funny because he was made out to be this maniacal overbearing character but when you talk to him he actually has the same soft spoken demeanor that David does.

And this isn't just coming from me or from his family. Ryan Seacrest said on Larry King that the characterization was false, as did several of the other contestants including Chikeze who shared a room with David and his dad for part of the show.

I'm so glad Theo won! Canadian Idol is easily my least favorite Idol I've seen...and the main reason is the most talented person hardly ever wins. This season it finally happened!

Um, and of course what was still sadly left unsaid on this thread since this was typed is that a person is gay because they're gay, not because whatever crazed homophobic stage father "allows" them to be gay, or not... the only thing an idiot like that can do to someone is pressure them to stay in the closet. But they'll be gay either way.
