I actually met him when he was speaking in Saint Louis some years ago and even had a dance with him at the bar afterward. He was a nice guy.
 
He was one of our original "poster children" as the Gay rights movement began to find its feet in the 70s. Newsweek did a cover and an entire article on him. RIP Lenny.
 
I remember meeting him in a party in DC years ago while in college. Nice guy.
