This ad is now playing on Philadelphia TV for Pennsylvania's new 5th Congressional district.

Pretty amazing, right? Brace yourself.

PEARL KIM IS OUR REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE.

Yes. I am gobsmacked.

I am still supporting her opponent, Mary Gay Scanlon. I LOVE what Ed Rendell says about her.

See below.

I wouldn't trust any Republicans whatever they say. And I don't have any confidence in the Democrats whatever they do.

The newly drawn 5th District most closely resembles Pennsylvania’s 7th before the new boundaries, which Clinton won in 2016 by 2.3 points. In the newly drawn version, Clinton would have won by 28 points. It is not surprising that the only Republican woman seeking statewide office in Pennsylvania, who also happens to be a first generation Korean-American, wouldn’t shy away from being mistaken for a Democrat. Pearl worked as a prosecutor and later as Deputy Attorney General for Pennsylvania. She has name recognition and her stance on issues appears reasonably appealing. The word “Republican” doesn’t appear on Pearl’s website – except where quoted in linked news articles.

yeah I'm in the same place---and have been for a long time---many are talking of a 3rd party but I'd just like a parliamentary system which forces people to work together---our system allows 40% of the country to run everything---the majority vote for Dems and yet the feckless Dems control nothing.

Pearl Kim does have a fundraising advantage. Signs for her appeared along West Chester Pike in affluent Edgmont and Newtown Townships.
