I just saw that today when I stopped by your gallery. I'm SO sorry to hear that they deleted all of your images. They were really excellent. My fave was your Zack Randall galleries.

I would be infuriated to find something I worked so hard at being removed. I do thank you for you contribution and all your hard work!!! It certainly was "great while it lasted".

I am so sorry to read what you've just posted.
Not only because I've enjoyed your galleries for a long time but I know so many others have found pleasure in them too.
I don't understand why people cannot leave this sort of thing alone. It's done no harm to anyone. What you shared is something that many people have enjoyed and you spent much time toward compiling it.
It makes me sick to read that sites that are for adults are gong to come under more and more pressure to conform to the mainstream.
I have no idea what to do about it.... Do you? Any of you reading this know what to do?

As I understand it from reading John's opening post, there haven't been any objections to the content of his galleries being posted on gay sites. The problem is that his photos have found their way into the mainstream having been picked up by Google and, presumably, other search engines.

It's one thing for John's Image Event galleries to be available to us on JUB (and other porn sites) but when someone innocently Googles a subject and finds that one of the "suggestions" is a John W porn gallery, that's where the problem is. Pity Google didn't have the "intelligence" to recognise a porn site and ignore it for the purposes of a "general" search.

Obviously porn being posted on a "non-porn" forum would, indeed, cause problems and it is irresponsible and inconsiderate for people to do this.

It's a pity that John W's galleries were picked up on Google and a pity that people have been posting his pics on non-porn sites.

It's clear that John's galleries were a labour of love, and I can't leave this post without extending him a for the pleasure he has given us Jubbers over the years. As has been suggested, perhaps they can be re-incarnated.

Bad news, I'm afraid.

The owners of Image Event have deleted all 250 of my Galleries because of an increasing number of complains about the content.

I am told the main problem was people Googling various topics, and the search results directing them to my Galleries.

In addition, people were posting links to my Galleries on various non-porn forums and message boards, causing all sorts of problems.

In the end - and I guess I have to be pragmatic about this - there was no alternative but to close my Galleries down.

My Image Event albums contained several thousand photos in 250 Galleries, and I couldn't begin to tell you how many hundreds of hours I've spent over the past five years compiling them. Quite a blow losing all that work, but "that's life!"

Anyway, I know for a fact that the Galleries were enjoyed by countless people around the word, and it was great while it lasted.

Dear John, I'm very sorry that you've lost all your photos. I'm using ImageEvent as well and I always panic one day this will happen to me since I've already lost all my photos in Photobucket, when I'm not even posting any porn photos! I understand it's devastating to have such thing happen without any warning. I wish there's a good decent photo hosting service that will suit people like us.

Well that's really sad news... I for one have been enjoying those galleries for quite some time - there was something there for every mood! What a great shame they had to go.

Maybe JUB would support, or host, such galleries in the future...
