I don't usually meet people on a whim on the street in a spectacular way, but this meeting I'd range as somewhat spectacular and somewhat movie-esque.
One fine day this autumn I was entering a building. It has two front doors (one going out and one going in), a little hall and two new doors (ditto as above). It was in the morning, about 10am, and for whatever reason I had managed to roll out of bed, turn around in the shower and come out looking quite decent on the other end. Entering this building, I pushed through the first door, noticed a dark, fit, tanned, gorgeous male pushing through the first door going out on the opposite side, across from me. The moment I saw him, he saw me, and we locked eyes. We walked past each other in the little hall, practically in slow motion, still looking each other in the eyes. This eventually caused him to walk into the front door on the opposite end, and me to trip over the threshold on my end. We giggled lightly, kept up eye contact, stood still for a moment just looking at each other and smiling. We walked back into the hall, he flipped me a business card, shot me a wink and a Christopher Reeve-like smile and walked away.
Did I get in touch? Yes I did.
