Let's be clear here.
Our native peoples were inclusionary, with a great respect for LGBT people. And they are referred to as 2 spirited.
The colonial Brits of course, couldn't reconcile that so it was stamped out and villified.
It is a matter of great pride that Canada has reached a level of maturity and acceptance to achknowlege one of our 3 founding peoples' designations for non-binary, lgbtq+

Along with residential schools and other horrors the British Empire visited on Canada's indigenous people...there is a legacy that needs to die out with the idea of the moral superiority of Colonialism.
