A new country for LGBT people.

Hello fellows Jubbers,

it's been some time I've been thinking about this subject.

If LGBT people from the entire world were given a new country (by UN, or a new island having surfaced, whatever) to do what they want with.

How would you organize it ?

Would it be welcoming to straight people ? Children would be born, and if they are straight, what should be done ?

There would be massive immigration all the time as LGBT people would come at every generation.

Would Hollywood migrate ?

Would the economy be much different from the other countries ?

Would the country be a Republic, a Constitutional Monarchy ? Other ?

Would there be enough people interested for an army ?

What would be the diplomacy of this country ? Versus Western Nations, versus Iran ? versus China ?

How would life be different in this country ?

How religions would be treated ?

Would there be a common language ? English ?

I would say that perhaps there is a small, but overly exaggerated element that thinks this, but they rarely vocalize it and such opinions could easily be shut out by an overwhelming movement of daddies telling 15 year old gay boys to grow the fuck up, or shut the fuck up.

Well medical procedures would be ok I guess, so having children would not be impossible, and LGBT people from other countries would constantly apply for citizenship.

One of my concern though, is the proof. If the country is rich, straight people may want to immigrate too, so what screening would be possible ? Or would we allow all, depending on qualification or riches ?

It would not be a country for segregation, and surely it would welcome straight people, but firstly a safe haven. For those in the all too many countries when being gay is a life threatening experience.

And I would hope a country with a high standard for tolerance and respect of one another (but I may be a teeny bit optimist there ).
