Are you really coming to Portland? That's a ton of dough!
 
If you're a UK citizen, you can literally just jump on a plane and go. Americans can do the same when going to most European countries as well. I've traveled a decent amount in western Europe and Latin America and have never needed a visa in advance anywhere.

As always though, don't take my word for it--see the State Department's site.

But, here's a thought....

Is it easier to get into Canada? We're tentatively planning a JUB meet in Vancouver, B.C. (during their Pride would be great), and I think several Oregon and Washington JUB-bers would try to make it up there. It's a fantastically beautiful city, I think you'd love it.
 
I'd love to go to the Vancouver one, but guess what? Canada is as snotty as the U.S. -- I have a misdemeanor on record, and the only way I can go to Canada is to go to a consulate for a personal interview and convince them why it wouldn't be "dangerous" for me to be in Canada!

I am new, and so I am just now finding this thread. I would like to meet some others on this site, but I think I will have to pass on this meet due to finances.
 
I'm taking off work on both my jobs on the 24th. I'll definitely be there!
 
I'm still planning to go. I was actually just in Portland this last weekend, but it's always fun to visit!
 
I'm going to have to pass on this one. It would be 20+ hours of driving for one day, and I'd have to get a hotel room for 2 nights.

Maybe some other time though...
 
Well Nate, you will be missed, but I agree 20+ hours is quite a lot. Maybe you can organize a SLC meet up some time?
