So is it definately happening on the 24th?

We've got the 24th but I don't think we're certain on a place. Last Sunday someone suggested Hobo's in Portland, and I had replied that we should leave this open for another week to let plenty of people reply.

If anyone can think of some where or place between Settle and Portland, that would be ideal!! Come on, there HAS to be somplace!!

There's a gay bar in Olympia called Jake's... the whole town is pretty gay friendly.

Do you have anymore info on Jake's? Afterall, Olympia would be a good half way mark. Btw, is Jake's a female friendly place? ;)

I haven't been there, but my brother and his girlfriend used to go all the time when they lived in Olympia, so I'd imagine it's both girl and straight friendly. Really, my experience is limited to the t-shirt my brother bought me for Christmas.

If it is in Seattle, I can easily get there by the clipper (water), don't have to re-new my passport. If it is in Portland, can get there by air no prob, just have to get the passport re-newed. A place in between may be a prob as they may not have direct flights.
Seattle may get some more people from Vancouver and the Olympic Penninsula if we contact them, could be more of a Pacific Northwest International meet.
Just my thoughts
Don

Yes, Olympia would be good!! I'll see what I can come up with on this Jakes! I'll keep in touch.

If we did it in Olympia who would realistically come?

5 people answered that they want it in Seattle, but a couple of those guys haven't replied in the thread. I'm still fine with Portland too. Hobo's is an excellent venue for this kind of thing.

I can't find any listing for Jakes in the Olympia area!
Portland is perfectly fine for me, in fact I would rather it be here in Portland, that way I would not have to take any extra time off of work! I was just trying to make a meeting convenant for everyone.

I'd be up for driving down to Olympia. I've never been there, but isn't Jakes a dance club? Might be kinda loud for a meetup.

I'd still prefer Portland somehow. I think that if we do it in between there are going to be some people who aren't able to get themselves to a halfway point.

Elworth mentioned that he would be in town from Utah on this day, which is I think how we originally picked the 24th, but he hasn't dropped back into the thread to say whether or not he's willing to go to Portland.

Wow. I''m only just discovering this today. I can't believe this discussion was going on and I didn't know about it. :-)

Z! Put me down for wherever you decide! It'll be great to see you again!

Olympia sounds good (Tacoma would work, too, and has more bars to choose from). Portland is easiest for me, but I want a chance to meet more of those "northern" guys....

Let's hope for a crowd, shall we?

I'd be up for any of the suggestions really. Of course, Seattle is easiest for me (heck, I could probably walk to the venue we choose), but I wouldn't mind Portland or most cities in between either. Portland means an overnight stay for me, but like I said before I'd probably just drive the extra 100 miles to go visit my parents (which I've been meaning to do anyways) in Eugene afterwards.

6 people have voted for Seattle though many of them have not posted in this thread at all - I wonder if they would really come?

5 people have voted for Portland.

A number of us don't care so long as it is in western washington.

I really like the suggestion of Hobo's in Portland. Are there any strong objections to that?

Here's a link to Hobo's
