A Progressive Black Woman vies to become Georgia’s Next Governor

There is more to it than just the people's votes. Last year or the year before state Dems funded a Republican over the progressive that won their primary in one state. It was an easy win, but they gave it away. That is not even getting into cheating behind the scenes if they feel like it.

At some point we need to move beyond last year. Somebody is going to shine a new light. It’s called reform.

In Jawjuh? Pffffft, good luck sister.

Also the only thing more cringe-inducing than still having "first black" anythings in 2018 is how comfortable people are with still having "first black" anythings in 2018.
Right? I'll give you this one.

I agree 100%, but the dem leadership has not learned a thing.

They still believe this crap.

“I don’t think that people want a new direction,” Pelosi said on CBS’ “Face the Nation” on Sunday. “Our values are supporting working families. What we want is a better connection of our message to working families.”

Bad leadership shouldn't stop progress.

Georgia did not just “get woke” on Tuesday.

The New Georgia Project has been on the ground for years registering and educating voters — especially people of color, women of color and white women — and talking to ordinary people about values and issues that matter in their lives, such as child care. Abrams founded the New Georgia Project with a massive voter registration campaign back in 2014. It is paying dividends now.

How Stacey Abrams’ Historic Win Could Change the Democratic Party (Time; May 24, 2018)

You speak for yourself.

In Cyrillic apparently.

I'm going to jump on every silly, ridiculous conspiracy fantasy I find, because accommodating them out of politeness tacitly supports the crazy.

Stacey Abrams: ‘I will not concede because the erosion of our democracy is not right’

Prepared text of Stacey Abrams’ non-concession speech, acknowledging that Republican Brian Kemp will be Georgia’s next governor
(AJC Political Blog; November 16, 2018)

Abrams said she is not challenging the result in court, but she announced at her news conference that her campaign “will be filing a major federal lawsuit” against the state of Georgia “for the gross mismanagement of this election.”

Georgia’s Stacey Abrams Admits Defeat, Says Kemp Used ‘Deliberate’ Suppression To Win (WABE; November 16, 2018)

I am so sad about this.

But I have to think that this has left a bitter taste in many mouths and hopefully, come 2020, the voters remember this.

They will.

You may recall that I reside in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District and that we had a Special Election last year to replace our Representative who had resigned from Congress in order to join the Trump Cabinet. You probably remember Jon Ossoff and the intense campaign both political parties waged to control this district.

The grass roots organization left behind after the Ossoff defeat has remained very much alive. So much so that our new Representative for the 116th Congress is a Democrat. She is a woman of color. She is also a mother whose son was shot and killed by some Stand Your Ground freak at a gas station in Florida a few years ago.[SUP]*[/SUP]

Stacey Abrams is young. I don’t think we’ve heard the last from her. The grass roots organization she has helped to create here in Georgia will remain alive.

Don’t be sad. Vote!
