We don't want a massacre. It is an issue when the leader of the country begins with an attitude of using lethal force when deescalation tactics are viable.
This isn't to say that people shouldn't be allowed to defend themselves. They should, but it's not good to start with a mind-set of 'use lethal force.' It not only puts the people going to the border in danger, it puts our military in danger too. Resolving things peacefully is the safest option and should be the priority.
