do you have a guitar shop in town? they can often do repair miracles, but often it's just as cheap to buy another instrument, used. thrift stores will sometimes have stuff like that, or pawn brokers... you may even wind up with a better guitar, for less money. do you know any other guitarists? You really should, just to fart around with and compare notes if nothing else.
 
Bummer... that doesn't exactly sound like something that's "fix-able"... but then, what do I know about a guitar?

I was more asking so I could tell him if it was fixable, haha!

Not sure, though. Headstock, I'm thinking you'll be meaning. It'd probably fuck with the tension of the whole thing, the stability of the neck won't ever really be the same. Hm. Unless I guess it was professionally fixed.

Ho hum. I'd head down to a second hand shop. A friend of a friend found a tatty Gibson he cleaned up, that was worth £800 when new.
 
^I know that, I was just teasing. I noticed that you're holding a guitar in your avatar. Trying to mend the guitar sounds expensive and having to replace it sounds expensive. I hate breaking stuff!
 
Well, if the acoustic is dead - which it might be - it might be time to upgrade to an electric. You do want to shred, yes no? Just looking for the silver lining.

Again, second hand shops and stuff are all I can recommend. It won't be brilliant, but sometimes a cheap guitar rocks a little bit more.
 
That's catchy. Someone should put that to music. Maybe some sort of folk-rock blend. Dunno - just throwing out ideas here.

You could get it fixed and have the neck reinforced, but it'll never sound the same....and it'll cost some bucks.
Same thing happened to me once....I share the rage(*8*)
