The adult book store in my home town had the exact same price stickers on the magazines!

So did the distributor have those and sell them to all the shops or did this maybe come from the store I used to visit?

Yeah I know - probably they were an industry standard - but still fun to think about!

The prices on the magazines was pretty standard, although lots of adult stores would put their own price stickers over the one that was originally printed on the cover. When you look at some of those prices keep in mind that this was over 50 years ago and you have to adjust it for inflation. For example, $5.00 in 1970 equals $40.00 today, so these were not cheap purchases, especially when you know that most of these magazines were going to end up with greasy fingerprints or cum on the pictures.
