I spilled an entire glass of ice coffee on my laptop - needless to say it was completely destroyed - I was furious - so many personal pics and whatnot lost - so I went out and bought a new computer and while doing the set-up it gave me 2 options - "set up as new device" or "set up as laptop with a bunch of numbers" so I thought hmmm - maybe I can save some of this sinking ship - well low and behold my new computer is now fully restored with my entire old computer - all the pics - all the passwords - everything - I was ecstatic :gogirl: however that is VERY VERY SCARY - if I could nab all of that stuff out of thin air I am sure anyone with a half savvy tech background could to

so scary

Wow good^ :)

I found a dusty package of Funny Bones behind my desktop computer and ate it.

That would freak me out - I am trying to get this fucking microsoft edge malware off my computer but nothing seems to work. They invade all my programs and install their bullshit instead and I keep removing it but it returns.

Try Malwarebytes, it is pretty effective against that sort or thing and is free,

As someone in Information Technology, it would simply be easy to recover the data. Pull the hard drive, cable it up to a laptop or computer and the information is still there. The operating system may be corrupted, but the data is still there and easy to access, unless the hard drive is damaged.

Just like the cell phone if you buy a new phone all your pics apps etc would appear on your new phone. That's one thing i like about Chrome i can use all my passwords favorites etc on any computer.

Been there. done that. Whenever I get a new laptop though, I have the contents of the previous one loaded....of course, it means that I have to keep adding memory...but hey.
