Abandoned properties

It would depend on how deteriorated it is. If the foundation and most of the basic structure were still stable, I'd try to restore.

If it isn't AI, I would gladly live in it for what it is and do the minum maintanence,

That looks like a mainly timber construction, with possibly a brick chimney stack. If the timber is rotten, the building would need to be completely rebuilt.

Even after fixing up what you see on the outside, I get the funny feeling the place will prove to be a money pit. Besides, will you feel the same charm living inside the place?

Probably if you cleaned it up it would look like a nice house

The Addams family would probably find this property "move in ready."

Given unlimited resources
If truly unlimited resources, restore.

If resources are limited, however, a careful calculaton of the realities of what's needed and the costs of fixing those problms would be needed. Although I'd say if the existing house is beyond hope that perhaps there are things in it that could be salvaged for use elsewhere.

Although I would like to restore it, if the inside is as bad and outdated as I think, it would be more practical to rebuild, and I probably would.
