Absolute heaven

If you were shown 100% indisputable proof that a perfect heavenly afterlife existed where you would experience eternal bliss ( all your loved ones there)..

..would you take your life prematurely to get there?
....and miss all your posts? Are you kidding??!!

Yes they used to execute people for trying to commit suicide (how ironic!).

Maybe we should encourage it..?

I wouldn't kill myself if I knew there was perfection after this because I don't want to die at all. I want to be taken up in an event like the rapture.

Are you serious?

I would say no. Although it would change my view on life. I'm not religious at all (I'm atheist, partially agnostic) and I believe if there's an afterlife, it would make me realize that you have to live this life with every day and every ounce of energy you could. I don't think I would go out and do any drug or alcohol that gets near me, but I would definitely live life a little more dangerously, more or less knowing that eternal bliss is waiting for me should something go wrong.

No I wouldn't. I've always been taught that there is a heaven where all my loved ones are waiting for me. Instead of getting there prematurely, I want to truly earn it by how I live.

Well, if Heaven exists, and it's meant to be reward for people, then suicide to get there faster would just be cheating. And if Heaven is the reward, then it's probably not going to be granted if it's underhandedly achieved.

And what's the point of eternal happiness anyway? Not everyone can be happy on everyone else's terms...Would your grandma want to still be your lovey, squishy, grandma in heaven and not a blushing 20 year-old with equally young grandfather? Would you want to always be with your parents, even if it was your parents' concept of eternal happiness?

And if the solution is everyone's own personal heaven, then that would make the people in it simulacrum of what you WANT them to be, and not who they really are. That would make them fake and by extension, your happiness only a delusion/illusion.
