Absurd Claims of "Straightness"

Bisexuality does seem to be treated differently between America and Europe. It seems guys here are a bit more open about being bisexual, while in America, they seem to keep it a secret, claim themselves straight, and only really say they're bisexual if they end up having a partner of the same gender.
Remember around 2009 when it was "popular" to be bisexual, and there'd be dudes coming out as bi left and right? Well, at least it was in Europe, I've talked to friends I've made online over the years, and it seems like it was all over the continent.
In my last year of highschool, I had 3 bisexual dudes and 2 bisexual girls in my class. All out and proud.
I don't buy the gay4pay bullshit. Mostly because it's always paid actors that are there pretending to be straight. They're most likely bisexual, and perhaps even have a gf or wife, but call themselves straight.
And the fact a straight dude fucking another dude is a big fantasy lots of gay men have, just makes more of these dudes continuing to claim they're straight, but happen to enjoy sex with others dudes.
It's a bit of a cultural thing, on how different cultures react to bisexuality, but it's also partially the porn industry's fault for continuously pushing these "straight" dudes into their scenes, to feed the fantasy that one day a hot straight dude might want to fuck us.

Good stuff here. Also I think lots of guys think that because they are not effeminate, the standard expected behavior of gay men, that they are straight, even if they suck some dick. All gay4pay men are bisexual, they just don't define themselves that way.

Why do we care what someone else writes about themselves on a site? Aren't there plenty of people who claim they're in "great" relationships and they're the most dysfunctional relationships in the world? People are people. In my experiences, this seems to be the truth. All the non-American guys I've dated are exponentially more comfortable about the fact they also like to fuck guys and don't seem to care who knows.

OK, we're all familiar with the porn-star claims to be straight, because the porn companies play on our internalized homophobia, and we're all supposed to want to have sex with straight guys as some sort of conquest, revenge for high school, yadda yadda. And we all know the Sean Cody models who claim(ed) that they're straight, but sure do like to be fucked in the ass.

But sometimes the claim itself, the actual words, is absurd on its face. Found a guy on Xtube whose self-description reads like this: Got that? He's straight but finds gay sex "awesome." Not "good enough if there are no girls available." Not "I just do it for the money." He finds it hot. But he's straight.

I think this is probably a symptom of bisexual erasure. He can't say he's bi because that's not a category he's even aware of.
