They are putting it in every drink now - even the non "sugar free".
I can't stand the taste of it, but it's impossible to buy carbonated drinks without it.
Since I have no weight issues or blood sugar irregularities, why can i not choose to drink sugary drinks if i want?

That's the problem with "diet" and "zero sugar" drinks you'd be better off drinking Milk, Coffee or Tea I actually really like Pure Leaf Unsweetened Black tea it has a natural Lemony taste without sugar or calories watch out though when you go into the flavored stuff the sugar is OFF THE CHARTS! better to just add the whole fruit and let it steep/infuse the tea!

Just drink what you like, with the awareness that too much of them is a risk factor.

That's not the same as worrying about it.

Drink a variety.

What I'd LIKE is Fanta, coke, Pepsi of 5 years ago. They ALL have the bitter taste now, and consumers have no choice.

And i have no confidence that these laboratory sweeteners are less harmful than sugar, as derived from sugar cane.

Large doses of sugar all at once, as in sweetened beverages, is pretty fucking bad for you.

It goes a lot further than drinks.

The snack food industry began leveraging artificial sweeteners over a decade ago, adding them to miscellaneous products like chewing gum, and the apparent goal was to reduce the amount of sugar to probably save on shipping sugar, since it is heavy. So, they still put sugar in, but it is less than before, but boosted with supersweeteners.

It's like the Fentanyl of food science.

I drink my vodka, scotch, bourbon, rum and everything else straight up.

I'm good.
