ACORN-prostitution and tax evasion-Crazy Staffers

Nick, I wasn't defending any wrongdoing on the part of Acorn. ...

Didn't say you're defending wrongdoing.

You're defending Acorn, and Acorn is smarmy and has been smarmy for a long time.

Acorn receives another slap on the wrist. But at least its a step in the right direction, after many illegal happenings and improprieties.

We need some sort of independent structure, apart from the Big Two parties, to deal with this sort of thing without all the partisan crap that lets them off with slaps on the wrist.

Seriously, if we had, say, Jedi Knights, they could deal with Acorn.

When they finished with Cheney, Rumsfeld, and the rest. :D

I hate small-bore politics. We're talking chump-change with ACORN. Wrong, yes, but no one died. Sadly the same cannot be said for the multiple crimes of Cheney's company, Halliburton.

Playing diversion, are we?
Sorry -- not even "small-bore" corruption should be allowed: when small-bore is accepted, soon medium-bore corruption comes to be tolerated, and over the years the caliber grows. Halliburton is only the latest gauge in a series that began with things like Acorn being overlooked.

The reason both Democrats and Republicans in the House voted to defund ACORN was because they had had to -- ACORN personnel was on video telling how to evade taxes, promote child prostitution, etc. The congressman who voted against the amendment are mostly in in districts where they will have no opposition in 2010.

They voted to keep their job.

Straight to the point!

They don't vote for right or wrong, good or bad; they vote for their jobs.

And the perks, of course.
