We still do them when the guys are comfortable with it.

Well, it should be that way. I see so many sites starting to do bareback now that swore they never would and even admonished me for it when I used to shoot only bareback. I was considered the black sheep among many sites who proudly patted themselves on the back for only shooting safe sex videos.

Now, with the economy in the can and the membership site business model taking a nose dive, giving way to piracy and tube sites, suddenly they don't seem to have a problem with it. It's a measure of desperation in my opinion to keep their revenues up. Think about it, why else would they do it?

In the end, I feel good about my choice to cease doing it and I knew when I stopped I would take a hit in revenues but it was about more than that for me. I made my choice based upon what I felt was the right thing to do, not what I thought meant the most in revenues. I'm not saying I will never do it again, I have, but it will never be the "norm" on AD to the extent that it was in the past.

My two cents.

I have see recent scenes where you have but as you said, it's not where they're forced to do it or they won't get work. The ones I have seen,they know exactly what choice they are making and I won't begrudge them for it.

Totally off the subject, but since I just received a ton of comps last night for the redesign of Active Duty, I was pretty excited to share the news. We've been working all Summer on re-encoding all of our videos into formats compatible with iPhone, iPad, iPod, Android, Apple TV, iTunes and all Smart Phones and devices. The encoding is almost complete and so is the site redesign. We hope to launch the new site by the end of August. There will be a lot of exciting new changes and two levels of membership, allowing members to choose the amount of content they receive each week.

Basically the two-tier membership will be broken down something like this:

Jr Enlisted or NCO (Non-commissioned Officer) which will pretty much be the same level of membership that is offered now with 12 full-length Streaming videos each week, a new War Chest scene (streaming only), a new scene (streaming only) and 5 downloadable scenes.

The Officers Club will be the "premium" new level offering twice as many streams each week (possibly more) and all War Chest videos downloadable as well as a lot more downloadable scenes and content.

Both levels will be compatible across all formats as mentioned above and have a fully functional, very detailed search function, that links models to all their galleries, scenes/DVDs, LIVE Show Archives, etc, etc.

If there is anything you'd like to see integrated into the new design please let us know.

Dink, since you asked for feedback, here is mine...I love your videos, I have over 75, but I have to say I was disappointed in your website so I am really glad you're redesigning it. I hope the two tier web design works out for you, I would be tempted to subscribe to the top tier but ONLY, ONLY if you offer your downloadable videos in a higher bit rate than 800bpm...my past experience in downloading these videos has been it is not worth using the space on my harddrive, the video quality on them is really disappointing and quite frankly I expected so much more from your site. Again, I love your dvds and would be more than happy to rejoin your site if you are going to make some serious changes. I do commend you on using sites like JUB to keep your audience informed. Good Luck!

The new files will be as follows:

300K (iPhone, Ipod, Android) They play extremely well on those devices and are encoded in the M4V format which is what apple uses for its iTunes files and the quality is amazing.

800K (for iPad and slower connection speeds) Again, quality is excellent. Much, much better than our current 800K files.

1500K (for PC, Mac) I have found these files to play flawlessly on my 27inch iMac)

2000K(for PC, Mac, TV, Airplay, Apple TV) This file size will allow you to watch DVD quality videos on your HDTV wirelessly through your Apple TV using File Sharing on your iTunes or via your iPad. You can also plug your PC or other device into your TV via an HDMI cable and watch it as well.

In playing around with these files something interesting that I have found is that the M4V files whether they be 300K, 800K, 1500K or 2000K all play very, very clearly through iTunes file sharing on Apple TV. I was amazed. Even the 300K file plays "respectably" enough to not be annoyed. The 800K file I could tell hardly any difference in comparison to the 1500K or 2000K files when playing them on my HDTV via iTunes file sharing on Apple TV. I was blown away. There is a reason for this: Apple uses the M4V format because it gives the absolute best quality possible in smaller file sizes. Hence, it reduces their cost in bandwidth. They really got this down to a science.

For those not using an Apple device there will be an imbedded player that works on all other devices flawlessly. And of course the PC.

We are really excited about this and can't wait to launch the site with all these new features.

Easy tiger! Unless I'm missing something you didn't ASK a question in the other thread, you made two statements which were:

"I want MORE Maverick and Haws and Corey I LOVE COWBOYS and MARINES Also Kale,Jake, Diego,
Asher,Joel Dakota & Justin just to name a few of MY FAVORITES"

AND:

"I would Love to see more of Cash too Bradude,but these guys need to Get It HARD or GO HOME."

Did you say that all War Chest videos will be downloadable with the premium "Officer's Club" membership?

I like Active Duty, but my major complaint was that the War Chest videos have never been downloadable (they were streaming only). I particularly like the solo videos, but they have never been offered for download before.

It would be really nice if you could make all of the videos on your site, downloadable, with that new premium membership option.

I would be willing to pay more to have the option of downloading any of the videos in the War Chest archive.
