Actor Brad Renfro is dead, the Los Angeles County Coroner confirmed to Access Hollywood.

According to the coroner's office, a Brad Barron Renfro, with the same date of birth as the actor, died today. They have no cause of death yet; the investigation is pending.

Renfro was 25 years old.

Renfro got his first big break when he was discovered by director Joel Schumacher, who cast the then 10-year-old in “The Client.” The breakout 1994 role pitted the young actor on screen with Susan Sarandon and Tommy Lee Jones.

He quickly graduated to tween movies like 1995’s “Tom And Huck,” opposite Jonathan Taylor Thomas before moving on to indie dramas including 2001’s “Ghost World” opposite Scarlett Johansson, Thora Birch and Steve Buscemi.

Renfro had been in frequent trouble with the law in recent years, including a December 2005 arrest in a heroin sting round up on LA's skid row. Renfro was charged with a felony count of attempting to possess heroin.

i don't even know what to say... i'd LIKE to be able to say that if this is true that it comes as a shock, but unfortunately--and i hope nobody takes this the wrong way, but it doesn't. tragic and senseless, but i think alot of people kinda saw this coming. again, i hope i'm not coming off as insensitive. my heart goes to him as well as his friends and family.

omg...so sad. i remember him from back in the day when him, jtt, and devon sawa were all in tiger beat and bop and all those girly mags.i didn't know he had such a troubled life.

oh wow.....but yeah i agree...not too shocking...but still sad....it was between him or Natasha Lyonne who was gonna be next.....sad though

It is always sad when someone dies no matter what the cause...may he rest in peace.

I don't think I've seen any of the movies he was in. Hope he can finally find some peace now.

And THAT is why young actors/musicians shouldn't have access to their funds until they show unwavering maturity on the cases of drugs, alcohol, sex, and driving.

i don't really think that would help too much. just because they couldn't buy it themselves, doesn't mean they couldn't get it.

I was just on the IMDB message boards and people were being so cruel about his death over there.
May he rest in peace.

Thats not a shocker since that website has been overtaken by trolls.

With that said I was sad to hear that he died.:(

From what I've gathered he suffered from parental neglect. And in the few news reports about his antics to seemed as if there wasn't a good mentor/friend figure.

Nonetheless he had produced some great work when he was alive (Bully, The Client) and that should hold up in the future. Rest in Peace, Brad.

it's sad. Always is, no matter if the person is a celebrity or not. His best performance for me was "Apt Pupil"

The only movie I've seen him in is The Client, and it was an amazing movie, I really want to read the book(by John Grisham)
