TRICK? QUESTION OF THE DAY.

If your were 10 years old in 1988 (BC-AD/AC-DC) that makes you 29 now.
But last year you were 34 - how did you managed to age backwards. Did you click your heals 3 times and hold the magic wand like Dorothy did in The Wizard of Oz - 1939)

According to his avatar and previous postings he is at the Univ. of Toronto and the Metropolitan Opera - in both cases lecturing - one in French and one in English.

be interesting to know what would happen if someone were to contact these organizations and find out if such a person really was employed by them - just to make sure of course that one was receiving the proper information that is posted on this forum. "Some day my prince will come." - Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

And per a posting last year he was looking at the "pretty boys" in his class

"He's back" - "Poltergeist"

by the way, you know of course, not to expect any response to any of these questions and or comments.

Location: Toronto/New York (3 months each year)

By which I assume he means, 3 months each, every year. That leaves six months in an undisclosed location. Hmmm... it's a mystery.

My favorites:

Male:

Tyrone Power
Cary Grant
Bogart

Female:

Susan Hayward
Bette Davis
Ingrid Bergman

Those are just off the top of my head, but then there's Eleanor Parker (unjustly forgotten/underrated I think), Flynn, Gable, James Mason, Stanwyck, Crawford, Maureen O'Hara (deserves a special Oscar IMHO), Doris Day (ditto), DEBORAH KERR!!!!!!, Stewart, Hepburn, Hepburn, Judy!, Fred, Ginger, Gene..., Olivia de Havilland... damn, i just love old films, period.

for the guys...
Spencer Tracy (could play serious or comical equally well)
Cary Grant (humorous in a subtle way)
James Mason (a gifted serious actor and villian)

for the ladies...
Joan Bennett (she was a class act all around, and could camp it up with the best of them on "Dark Shadows")
Olivia deHaviland (wide range...always credible)
Ingrid Bergman (her real life was as stormy as the parts she played...)

james dean, close 2nd brandon de wilde---julie harris, close 2nd natalie wood

I like Meryl Streep. Katherine Hepburn is way overrated - she had one character, one voice, and that was it. Meryl Streep is more of a chameleon and is able to portray a variety of characters. I was particularly upset with K. Hepburn's performance in Suddenly Last Summer, in which she is supposed to have a New Orleans accent but instead speaks with her typical New Hampshire accent that sounds nothing like anyone from New Orleans. Now when she is supposed to be an East Coast snob, she plays the part beautifully, but that's the only part she knew how to play.

Other actresses I like:
Bette Davis
Rosalynd Russell
Elizabeth Taylor
Sophia Loren
Anna Magnani
Marilyn Monroe

Actors I like:
Marlon Brando
Cary Grant
Burt Lancaster
Richard Burton
Zero Mostel
Jack Nicholson
Paul Newman
Peter Sellers
David Niven
Sean Connery

For camp value, Jayne Mansfield can't be beat.

Humphrey Bogart is pretty much the actor for me. When I think of acting I think of him. He was a fasinating person to watch on screen.

The same goes for Julie Andrews. She's so perfect and with such an incredible voice and daring career. I really respect her. She has a voice which makes me want to flop on the floor and suck my thumb and hear a story.
