Gays keep saying that there aren't enough visible gay stars in the mainstream scene. Yet, when a young openly gay guy like Adam Lambert is trying to be a mainstream pop star, gays just want him fail.

I was kinda disapointed I'm not going to lie. I love his glam rocker-ish goth look and that is totally way off. I guess its part of the whole album's theme.
Either way I'm going to be listening to his music, not stareing at his album cover.

You're in Los Angeles, and you're calling what he does freakish and weird? Come on Jasun. Anyway, I will wait to hear the album in full before I make any decisions, although I did not care for him on the show as he became repetitive and he lacked versatility; However, I would hate to see someone with his level of vocal talent fail, because he was not marketed properly.

I don't care if he fails or not. I just don't like him. The notion that I should call myself an Adam Lambert fan just because he's gay is ridiculous. Regardless of his sexuality, his attention-whoring gets on my nerves, his voice makes my ears bleed and his hair makes me want to attack him with a pair of shears.

As for his success being a good thing for the gay community, I think that's arguable. In some ways, he's a big embarrassment. He certainly doesn't represent me or my personal style, and he doesn't represent what I like musically. I don't feel connected to anything he does "artistically" and his personality grates on my nerves, so why should I (or anyone else who feels this way) fall all over ourselves to support him? His sexuality isn't a good enough reason.

The statement was supposed to have an "Oh, you think that's weird?" kind of feeling behind it.

As far as what it has to do with your location, Los Angeles is known for having weird and strange behavior to the point that many people in the city are rather desensitized towards it. In other words Jasun, a guy who is trying to resuscitate glam rock cannot possibly be weird to you after living in L.A. It's clear that he is going for a gimmick or alternative persona as opposed to there being an expression of himself. I believe that weird is probably an inaccurate descriptor here.

This album cover is disgusting to look at. While I appreciate that he's trying to be ironic, he doesn't pull it off and it looks like he's just being a tit.

There is nothing androgynous about him or cover as Ms. Lambert suggested, he just looks like a drag queen. Most of the time, actually. Is he even 'Glam'? I don't think most Glam Rockers with whiny queens.

I wouldn't pick him in a crowd.

Oh, it is. People just do not care; no one really makes a big deal about them. As far as Adam is concerned, I do not believe he is weird, as I said in my previous statement. He and his team have not figured out how to market him properly.

Adam has more talent in his nipple than Lady GaGa has in her entire body. He needs to focus on that rather than industry pressure. But, then again we see what makes the money.

What gays need is to start demanding quality. It doesn't have to be conformity to a particular artist, but stop eating up the cheap crap electronica/pop candy that's being fed to you.

well I've listened to the clips on Amazon UK of the album....and though I'm not a fan of his...I'm not absolutely hating the clips of the album. There were some great uptempo songs....some misses(most of the ballady songs)...I would give it a full listen when it comes out to make a decision on it...but...we'll see

It was kinda like a really drunk old lady trying to sing an Aerosmith power ballad at Thursday Karaoke.

He really is lower shelf crap, but people LIKE lower shelf crap.

The way some of you guys tear into Adam is astounding.

Then again, I save my passion for people I like. Why waste time hating someone?

Truth be told I don't really find anything about him attractive.

His face/body, his voice, style, nothing really about him gets me going. There is nothing wrong with him, he is being himself, well he is being what his management wants him to be. Then again I don't personally know him so... yeah.....


He could be trying to hard?

For the life of me there is just something about him that I just don't like. But I have no idea what it is. At this point I might as well be a homophobe.

His song "For your entertainment" on the other hand will be a hit. Although the chorus/bridge goes on forever and I am just waiting for it to get to the second verse then get back to my Nicki Minaj.

He has amazing people on his album though I know I will find something on there I can appreciate.

wow so "out" mag was instructed by his handlers not to make him look "too gay" and yet his album cover comes out and he looks like liza minelli? apparently his "handlers" didn't include any representation from his record company, which is pretty odd.
