C'mon, why is no one giving Adam Lambert credit for his performance?

I wasnt in love with the vocals. But I do like that song. i couldnt believe what he was doing on stage with all those girls and guys. I cant recall anyone EVER doing something like that. He practically ravaged the keyboard player. i wonder what the reaction will be.

I noticed that there was very few audience reaction shots like they did with other performances. Jay-z was prolly trying to avert his eyes. Also, when he shoved the guys face into his crotch right before he did it to the girl they cut away from the guy but showed the girl when he did it to her. Very interesting.

I started a seperate thread because the other one seemed to be only about Whitney.

Seriously, before every single commercial break, they pimped the hell out of this performance as being showstopping or w/e. It was probably the worst of the night and I actually just felt embarrassed for him. I understand him wanting to be controversial and all, but why on the AMAs? Its ABC, not MTV. Really reinforces the idea that Adam and his team really have no idea what they are doing. All controversy aside, the actual vocals were bad (from someone who has been touted as the next Freddie Mercury).

I dont think the performance was good music wise at all. But there were some obviously interesting elements to it. He's not the only one who sucked btw. Almost everyone did. He sucked but also made out with guys on stage. everyone else just sucked.

It's so funny how people, especially gay people, will worship Britney Spears for lipsynching across a stage (plus now she doesnt even dance) and act like it's a spiritual awakening.

In other Idol news, I thought Kelly was the only one that really KILLED IT on stage tonight. Hands down the best performance of the night and reminded me why I love her so much.

My ears were bleeding when he was performing. I highly doubt that he will suffer a backlash like Janet Jackson and her Tittie shot.

It was a bit desperate but at the same time, he has a lot of balls for doing that. All those religious groups are gonna get up in arms because he's "making children and babies gay" and "spreading the gay agenda". I'm actually very nervous for him. You never know what those people are capable of.

Um, because his album comes out Tuesday and he needs to promote it. The AMA's was the only option.

Personally, I loved it.

LOL. Some people on other blogs thought it was a lesbian and one of them wrote "You're being gay wrong!".\
\But I am still nervous something might happen to him. people get crazy over things like this. Especially since this was a family show. Even though he was on at almost 11 when no small child should even be up.

Just because he was performing did not mean he had to be over the top. This kind of performance on this kind of show was a really really dumb move.

Adam's performance was over the top, over rated, over sung, overly annoying!

I didn't mind him before, but this performance made me question if I like him or not....

This is why he didn't win American Idol...I think conservative America was afraid of a performance like this...

He's trying too hard...oh well...

Kelly was great...Janet danced good...Whitney needs to just retire now, J-Lo needs to go back into retirement.....and what's up with Jermaine Jackson's son being named "Jermajesty"???..LOL..they got a Prince, a Prince II, a JerMajesty...a Paris...they really were into the royalty thing huh?...haha

oh well...next it's the Billboard Music Awards..then the Grammy's.......Hope Adam isn't singing at those!

I enjoy that song...and a few others on Adam's album...but was not a fan of his on IDOL. That said....this performance was a trainwreck.

I understand you wanna be controversial and sexual and fun....but when you're known for your powerful singing voice...why hinder that by trying to do all this stuff on stage...that's why artists who do this over the top performance art don't sing live(except GaGa and Pink).

and don't get me started on this happening at the same time as all that OUT magazine stuff. What are his publicists thinking...was this a smack in the face to OUT..saying FUCK YOU here I am being gay for the world to see? I dunno...that didn't sit well with me...

but....in other news...who saw J.LO fall...haha.apparently it was edited out of the West Coast feed

My guess is about 2 weeks once his record sales take a HUGE nose dive once his "fans" all buy his "album."

The album will go top ten. That's almost a given. Hell, Justin Guar-whatever-his-name-was went Top 20, and that was before Idol hit phenom levels, and without an AMA performance or a gay fanbase who feels that buying a CD by him is a blow against homophobia.

Sales can't drop. Well, they can from week to week, but it's not (as you suggest) like people can negate the sale once it's made. Every time he does something annoying, it gets more people to notice, and a few of those "you go girl" types will now buy the CD. It might annoy three or fourteen people who already bought it for every new purchaser it brings in, but at that point, who cares? At this point, he may as well wring as much water from this stone as he can...and start planning his back-to-basics comeback.

Yes, I'm talking about a performer planning his comeback BEFORE HIS FIRST ALBUM COMES OUT. Things move quickly these days. :)

Never did like him. I could not believe my eyes today when I saw his new c.d. cover next to the winner of idol.
He's a disgrace.
Check out the winner of Australian Idol, now theres real talent and humbleness.
