Adam Lambert [merged]

Re: Adam Lambert's - For Your Entertainment Official Music Video

To get attention. Looks like it's working from this angle.

Re: Adam Lambert's - For Your Entertainment Official Music Video

How about this?

When other American Idol alums put out albums or perform - especially fresh from the show - it's almost always said (or assumed) that they're puppets. They're performing the songs that 19 Records thinks will sell, and aiming for the demo that 19 thinks will respond. People might like them or not, and they might sell or not, but most of us just think of them as doing whatever 19 Records wants them to.

I don't think I've once seen a mention of Simon Cowell or 19 Records in any of these Adam Lambert threads.

For all I know, none of this is Adam's doing. Simon and/or some other marketing guru at 19 might have nudged the songs in one direction or another, and told him how to act on the AMAs. But nobody seems to think so. Everyone's either saying "I love Adam's spirit" or "What the hell is Adam doing?" Nobody is saying "What is 19 Records making Adam doing?"

This in and of itself is notable.

Re: Adam Lambert's - For Your Entertainment Official Music Video

So why didn't he do something like this for AMA? He could have focused more on his vocals and saved the sex stuff for the video. Would have gained a lot better reaction.

I think Adam did all these things on purpose. He got people talking about him. I forgot about him and Kris immediately after American Idol ended but after seeing him everywhere last night on the internet, I checked on him to see what it was all about.

But then I have this feeling that this kind of controversy won't sell him CDs.

Re: C'mon, why is no one giving Adam Lambert credit for his performance?

He is going the way of Madona in her early days. Shock for the value and the publicity. Worked then, may not now. He is a talent without all the bull shit. He was a non talented person, then the bull shit could buy himself something.
He is being misguided.

So did anyone else like his snake?

There was a snake? I must have missed it lol.

Is it the same one as the Rolling Stone one?

*Waits for the 3 positive comments and 100 negative comments*

This is more shocking than the performance? The performance had simulated oral sex both male and female, fingering a girls crotch and an impromptu kiss with another man and he flipped off the audience. This had none of that.

With that said, I enjoy the video and was that same snake from his Rolling Stone interview?

I asked the same question lol

Re: C'mon, why is no one giving Adam Lambert credit for his performance?

Secondly, close friends at 19 Management clued me in to the absolute diva behavior Adam took on just after Idol ended and once he had signed to a record deal. He acts as if he is an already established entertainer who has the right to tell his people how to run his career (these are the people behind Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, I do believe they know what they're doing, yet Adam has decide to shut them out and act like he did on the AMAs).
.

This doesn't shock me at all, he seems like someone that would be a diva and a demanding prick. If he for one second thinks that he has the same level of talent that Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood has then the boy is sadly mistaken.

Re: Adam Lambert's - For Your Entertainment Official Music Video

A different Lambert's...

This one's a restaurant in Missouri which is "HOME OF THE THROWED ROLLS"

Yes, they THROW some of your food at you!!

Re: Adam Lambert's - For Your Entertainment Official Music Video

The song is god awful.

The video is really lame and generic.

The career is over before it's begun.

Pelase send him to the vet and have him put down with the rest of the rabid cats, ok?

Re: Adam Lambert's - For Your Entertainment Official Music Video

Well, considering the song sounds like a 3 year-old Britney Spears song, he may as well pose with a white snake like she did 5 years ago.

Next year he's going to show us his vagina and shave his head.

What a tard.

Re: C'mon, why is no one giving Adam Lambert credit for his performance?

Adam's Idol performance was just that - 100% performance. The humble, happy just to sing on stage guy that he played on Idol is NOT who Adam is. Well, the true Adam is an asshat.

Secondly, close friends at 19 Management clued me in to the absolute diva behavior...

Every day he makes a new plan to be shocking and controversial. He's trying too hard.

I do not buy for a minute that his "act" on the AMA's was in the moment as he claims. He is devious and manipulative.
That's how I felt about Adam the entire time he was on Idol. Everybody kept saying how amazing and humble and sweet he was and I was like, "Really? Can't you see what an act this is? Can't you see what I see?" It wasn't just that I didn't like his voice. Something about his entire persona got under my skin. He rubbed me the wrong way from the very start and I couldn't understand why so few people saw him for what he really was. Unrestrained by the boundaries of Idol, I knew he would make a joke of himself and his career.

He's not a demon by any means, but it should be known that this guy never makes a move without first figuring out how to manipulate the media and the public in a way that benefits him the most. There's nothing he craves more than fame and infamy. I've never been able to stand people like that. Jon & Kate Gosselin, Richard Heene, Heidi & Spencer, the list goes on...

Re: Adam Lambert's - For Your Entertainment Official Music Video

Oh, for pete's sake...leave the kid alone.

So he's an attention whore. What pop performer isn't?

Bigger fish to fry here, folks.

Yes, yes. I'm aware that there are bigger fish to fry... starting with poverty, the war in Iraq and childhood hunger, but I didn't realize there was some rule stating that we aren't allowed to discuss the more trivial things until those bigger fish are first taken care of.

This is a discussion board. The entire purpose of its existence is for us to discuss these silly things ad nauseum, no matter how pointless or important the topics may be.

I agree with you though that this guy isn't worth the headache.

Re: Adam Lambert's - For Your Entertainment Official Music Video

Agreed.

I just don't want to see us turn this into something bigger than it is to the detriment of ourselves, is all. Divide and conquer...that term comes to mind.

So yeah, we can make fun of the little bugger all we want and gossip and gab about his mediocre music and forced persona. But don't give him the satisfaction of more energy than he deserves.

But that's my 2 cents, for what it's worth...

Fair enough.

Or he could do more of the stuff he did on Idol. To date the only person to attempt Led Zeppelin, and not get unanimously panned by the judges to boot. He can sing.

I really don't get your seething hatred for the guy, though.

Re: Adam Lambert's - For Your Entertainment Official Music Video

The main problem is his vocal talent is in one category, and his camp appeal is in another. It's hard to mix them without pissing off certain demographics.

Oh, when the annoying fangurls won't quit about Britney or Adam or Gaga (and I still don't know who she is), it's fun to poke at them.

This video is dull and predictable with a very odd added bonus of a gay singer being pawed by women in leather bikinis. The song is awful and if he CAN sing, it's hard to tell through all the R2D2 vocal effects.

Bad music is bad music and cliche videos are cliche videos.. even when done by a "gay glam rocker" wannabe who's gay when it suits him and in the closet the rest of the time.

snore.

Re: Adam Lambert... a TRUE artist.

A certain amount of outrage may be the result of people not being comfortable in their own skin. It takes a lot to come out and live an open gay life - you sometimes feel all eyes are on you and that those eyes don't always approve of what they see, we can become overly concerned that other gays actions will reflect poorly on us and make our struggle even harder.

I personally feel no responsibility for the actions of others, they are not a reflection of me - I am my own man.

That said - I was not offended in anyway by the over the top display of camp and sexual pantomime. I thought it was great to see (in my lifetime) a young gay man proudly being who he is on stage with no shame or fear. I like that young men of his generation can be who they are - no lies, no evasion and no shame.

This guy may not have huge amounts of talent but he is busting his ass to entertain an audience - his moment in the spotlight will probably be brief but so what?

I say good on him, all those years of pretending to be Madonna in front of a mirror have really paid off, for him anyway.
