Has anyone gotten one and could they share their experience ect. I'm 21.

Don't have any first hand experience (I was "cut" when I was a few hours old), but I have a good friend who was done when he was 4 or 5, and he still remembers the pain he went through. He had to have it done for a medical reason, and in my opinion, if you weren't cut when you were first born or have a medical reason, I wouldn't do it. It is apparently extremely painful.

My Dad had it done as an adult (past 50). He thought if he had known he would have had it done before.

There are a few threads here that deal with guys relating their experiences. You can use the search function to find them and possibly PM the authors.

If you were not circumcised when you were born, there is no sense in getting it done now. I am uncut and glad to be that way. I cannot imagine that kind of pain down there. Just keep it clean. Just my 2 cents......

I thought about it as well (I'm 23) when I was younger. Now, I would do it halfway. I no longer feel any qualms about my foreskin but I would like to remove my frenulum (that flesh line running down the head). That has torn many times on me. I don't even think my insurance would cover it though. I've seen pictures of the frenulum being slightly under the head, allowing for the whole head to be exposed. On mine, it's attached at the urethra (opening) so while I can fully retract my skin, part of my head goes down as well.

Do you know how much it costs at all?? I have similar issue, yano, the "I pull back and the head goes down" deal. I want to have it done sometime this coming summer, when I don't have to worry about college and such.

I had it done about 11 months ago and at the time pretty much shared the entire experience here on JUB. If you're thinking about it as a personal choice and not a medical necessity, do your research and be sure that's what you want to do. Definitely talk to your primary care physician about it. I don't know what kind of medical insurance you have, but most likely your doctor will refer you to a urologist. The operation is very quick. I went in to the hospital at dawn; they put me under around 9, and by noon I was home again. Recovery takes several weeks. Yes there is some pain involved, but it's manageable. In hindsight it wasn't as bad as you'd think, but the recovery was slow and at times very frustrating. The stitches aren't pulled; they slowly come out on their own after about 3 weeks.

In the end, it is a personal choice. I'm glad I did it. In most cases there is nothing wrong with remaining uncircumcised. As far as cost, again it depends on where you live and what kind of insurance you have. My insurance picked up the bulk of the cost. My share was around $600, about $500 for the hospital and about $100 total the four PCP and Urology visit copays. Antibiotics and painkillers were another $70, but I shouldn't have bought the painkillers. They made me sick to my stomach, and I didn't need them for pain.

My best friend (who is straight) said that a friend of his had this operation when he was in his 30s and said it was the worst decision of his life. He said he would give his house if he could reverse the operation and have his foreskin back. He has never enjoyed sex after the operation in any way close to the way he did before. The sensitivity will never be the same. If you do not have a valid medical reason to do it, leave it alone!! You can't go back and you may regret it the rest of your life.

Do what you want,
why are you asking us?
Any doctor tries to circumcize me, he will be sued.
I have a big old floppy foreskin and I would not exchange it ever.
I believe it enhances sensation, sex, lubrication.
I can dock with a horse.

No surgery.
No anesthesia, very expensive.
Ah, you want to look like every boy in the US,
then one day your 26 and you just want to be you.

The feedback from adult circumcision is so mixed, I believe it has everything to do with your own thoughts as to how sensitive your penis is in general. That and I think everyone has their own level of sensitivity too.

Adult circumcision IMO is a-okay, just leave newborns alone is my big thing.
