Adult circumcision

Hi everyone, this is the first time I've made a thread on here so please bare with me if I make any mistakes. I'm 18 years old from Australia, and I've recently been looking into circumcision. I have a very tight foreskin and I've never been able to pull it back. I clean as best I can, but the head is so sensitive! I've always thought that circumcised penises look a lot better and I wish I had one, and then I found out that you can get circumcised in adulthood. However, I'm worried about losing pleasure sensitivity as I've head uncircumcised men get better pleasure, and I'm also worried about the sensitivity of the head after I get circumcised. If anyone has any stories or advice, any pricing for Melbourne doctors or anything like that, please post below! Thank you so much

I would recommend another technique then, believe me, you don't want to be circumcised. There's no need for it.

There is a lot of opinions about circumcision. Some people think it´s a mutilation, others think it´s a good thing regarding hygiena, some try to get their foreskin back after circumcision in childhood others think a foreskin looks bad....and so on.

Think about it, take your own opinion and the Doctors opinion, keep the risks in mind etc. and than make an informed decision.

If you cant retract your foreskin and haven´t been able to stretch it, circumcision is the next logical step in my opinion.

And Aymotin, thank you for your kind words Yeah I think it is the next logical step, I'm just a pussy when it comes to pain and I'm worried about the pain after, like when the head is exposed and rubbing against my underwear and stuff, not the surgery itself..

Well the pain you will have is from getting erections during the healing process. There is a cut in your skin and it is sewed together, so when you get an erection (e.g. in the night) the wound gets stretched which leads to pain. This is uncomfortable but no serious pain, most likely the Doc will give you some mild painmedications for oral use once the analgesia wears off.
If you ever had a minor surgery, that sort of discomfort and pain is what you will have to expect. Nothing that makes you scream, just a burning-stretchy feeling.

The big risk in a circumcision is the building of a scar (shouldn´t happen with a good Doctor) or infection (big part on the Doctor performing a sterile procedure, smaller part on you keeping the area clean). So basically the same risk with any surgery.

The exposition of the head will not cause you pain, it will be irritating in the beginning. The head is usually covered and after this cover is removed you will feel it touching and rubbing. But as I said, that will not be pain. If you normaly wear boxers (which allow your penis a lot of movement) you might want to change to briefs for the beginning (less movement, less stimulation of the head).

...You're cutting off what is arguably the best part of your penis when there are alternatives.

11cj11, I've always wanted to do it anyway, I think it looks much better and is far more hygienic. Also, I've never done anything with anyone, never even kissed anyone, so will I know the difference? Will masturbation feel different?

Well, someone from Australia would need to confirm this but in most countries, at age 18 would are an adult and you would not need to have your parents' consent for a surgery.

However, after any surgery you should always have someone who will pick you up after your surgery, ensure you get home safely and who will help you at home until the anesthesia has completely worn off. Also, you will not be able to shower or bathe and the first day after the surgery is when pain is usually worse, so it is a good idea to have someone help you with basic around-the-house chores for a couple of days. Since you're 18, a parent or older sibling would be the logical person to help you out.

The skin around an incision is cleaned with antibacterial soap during surgery. Most surgeons cover the incision with a sterile bandage after surgery. So, it's considered a sterile, clean area and usually you aren't allowed to uncover the surgical site for a couple of days after the surgery. So, that means no showers or baths.

Make no mistake- this is considered a major surgery that is done under general anesthesia in adults. It's not a small undertaking and there's a lot of things to think about before you take that step.

The whole association with circumcision and hygiene is a complete myth.

Personally, I say don't go for it unless you feel like it is a major inconvenience in your life. Sexually, I could give a damn less about my partner's genitalia. Penis, vagina, shaved, circumcised or whatever. But I totally understand that as humans we have an almost inherent need to modify our bodies. I happened to have been circumcised at birth. I have heard of other options other than invasive surgery that can give you similar results. I'm no expert on them. Most of them are little trinkets and devices that loosen the foreskin over time. Being that I have a penis and don't want a scalpel down there unless 100000000000000000000% necessary, these seem to be a viable option.

I was circumcised in 2010 at age 23, so I know exactly what you're going through.
My advice is get it done. I am a strong advocate for having ADULT males decide whether or not they want to be circumcised. Having experienced a foreskin, I know that its easier to get off with it than without it; however, I, too, had issues with keeping it clean (as hard as I tried), having it tore open, and not pull back.
Overall, it took almost a year for the sensation to be back in my penis but it works wonderfully, just as pleasurable as with the foreskin. Let me know if you want me to go into more detail!

Better pleasure? In which way? I don't think you should worry about this too much.. You're able to feel pleasure - believe me..

Maybe it will feel uncomfortable in the beginning, but I generally don't think that you have to fear anything. Millions and millions of men have undergone the surgery that you are thinking of and are perfectly fine to this day. If even your doctor is saying that it is the next logical step and if you're so keen on getting it done yourself, then I can't see what's stopping you. I guess the idea can be intimidating, but sometimes things seem more scary than they really are..
