I just bought the DVD of "Adventures of Mimi" on tour aka Mariah Carey, and it was awesome.. you see Jesse of Bravo's network "Working Out" and Jai Rodriquez (queer eye for the straight guy), and it is getting great reviews. For Mariah Carey fans only it was awesome. If you are not a fan please do not dis. I am just praising Mimi! As the #1 FAN (yes that exludes stuck up fan a.k.a. "Danno") Mimi rocks my world :)
 
Haha.....I've had it since the release day too! So we're tied DANNO!! LOL... I also saw the show both times it was in Toronto :D
 
This DVD shouldnt have been released.Period.
It's dubbed as fuck, not showcasing how horrible the REAL live vocals truly were and it'll only prove she's not the vocalist she used to be. If she was to release a dvd from the CB tour I'd agree cause her voice was in amazing shape but this tour was upside down a pure mess vocally...

Not dissing, just voicing my opinion on this

I will agree with you here......her voice is definitely not what it used to be. I personally think she was at her best around the Butterfly/Rainbow periods. Nevertheless, she does still put on one hell of a show!
 
I've got it. I'm a huge Mariah fan. Loved the girl my entire life. I would not have released this dvd. Her whistle notes are amazing but her voice is really strained throughout the entire dvd. I read they recorded it on the last night of the tour (that doesn't sound right to me).

If I were in control, I would have recorded this on the 3rd show. I'd give her two shows to get all the kinks out.

She really sounds down right awful at points.
 
I think during the CB tour, she really wanted to show she still had that voice. I don't know what was going on during this tour.
 
I love MC but those outfits on this tour should never be done again! The same goes for the dancing.
 
I got this DVD on the 7th.

I love MC since day 1 but I must say she should have rest longer because her voice can't keep up most of the time, it was painful to watch. Although the "Killer Whistle Notes" are still there, which makes me happy every time.

I died when Boys II Men came out. :D That was awesome.

I was appalled when I saw a clip of this concert and she came out wearing a freakin bra and panties! What is with her, she's 40 years old for god's sake. She looked like Britney's VMA disaster, only 20 years older. She needs to learn a little thing called "class."

If you want to hear perfect vocals go buy one of her CD's. Tours aren't about hearing perfect renditions of songs, they are about seeing and hearing the artists perform. I had a great time seeing her in Philly, it was a really fun show. I am so glad that she released this DVD, even when her voice is tired she sounds better than most of the artists out there. I do agree she should have released the CB Tour on DVD because that was my first concert I ever went to, it was such a great show!

I read the first post and it said if you're not a fan "no dissin;" I'm a fan, therefore I can diss ;) I love a lot of her songs, but I still don't like the path she went down from her 90's good girl image. I don't like all the panties and bras she wears and all the rap star collaborations she does. It's a personal preference really, I just prefer a more wholesome image. I saw the Charmbracelet tour in Vegas and she put on a good show! Stage presence leaves something to be desired but anyone who denies her talent is a complete moron.

You lamb's political correctiveness makes me sick as fuck quite frankly. That "even at her worst day she sounds better than most singers out there" type of arguement is just so overused, false, ridiculous and plain ignorant. Go watch the real live performance with the REAL vocals of Make It Happen from the concert from wich this DVD was filmed in. Even I would put her to shame if I'd be sharing the stage with her during that performance.

Besides, she sounded perfec during the Daydream tour back in 95/96 (probably her vocal peak) singing live not lipping once at all. Tours are PRECISELY where an artist can prove what he/she can do. However, Mariah being the studio singer she now is off course her best vocals will be in the studio (with a lil' help of pro-tools) and she cant duplicate it live...not even once!
 
For someone who doesn't seem to like her all too much you sure do spend a bunch of time talking about her! It's OK to like Mariah man, just admit it!
