So do any of you think you are alcoholic?

I took a quiz on the AA website in Australia and scored middle to high.

My mum says there is alcoholism in the family.

i consider my dad somewhat alcoholic (but manageable, he isn't abusive, actually mostly fun times, and only drinks on fri, sat).

I think i drink middling for an austrailisn on weekends (once every 2 weeks), and don't touch it much otherwise.

so am i a drinker? or am i a drunk?
p.s i think i am a social drinker at the moment)

Not alcoholic.

I can drink anytime
and can stop as long as i want without drinking. (weeks or months or years without drinking ).

I don't drink at all, but my roommate is a die hard alcoholic. He can go from stone-cold sober to pass-out drunk within an hour.

My Dad was a really bad alcoholic. He gave it up just before he died because---well, it was killing him.

I have a drink every now and again...I've had the same six pack in the frig for a month and a half.

Uhhh... I'm pretty sure I've done that before... twice. Well, not quite in 1 hour, but close enough... The first time was definitely a I-feel-bad-lets-get-blackout-drunk thing (I thought I had definitely failed my final exam that day). Started drinking at about 3, passed out by 5:30 or 6ish (PM).

Second time was on my birthday, where I went back to the restaurant I used to work and people kept putting shots in front of me. I had probably 11 or 12 drinks in the span of less than 2 hours. In at 7, passed out by 9. lol.

So, yeah, I'm not normally that alcoholic but I realize it could probably turn into a problem, so I'm cutting back on the booze consumption when I go back to school next term.

There are only two types of Wisconsinites: Alcoholics and Recovering Alcoholics.

The last drink I had was a glass of wine last Christmas - and I still have five beers in my refrig from the six-pack I bought last Thanksgiving... so I would have to say "No" to being an alcoholic ..|

i was definitely on my way to becoming one. i only stopped drinking regularly because i HAD to. these days i can barely get past the smell of str8 liquor without gagging, and it burns the hell outta my stomach if i drink more than a few sips.

also, weed and liquor really don't mix well with me, and Lord knows i LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE the bud;)

"Funny" how alcholism is funny up to some stage in your life (like dead baby jokes).

I had a similar experience. People thinking alcoholism is cool are propably the same ones who think conjoined twins and dead baby jokes are cool... #-o

I've hopefully made a halt on my way to becoming an alcoholic. The past year I've had more blackout-incidents that I can count on my hands, and been drinking way too much and way too often. The drinking has been a natural side-effect from being a socially active college student, but the way I've been drinking has been a result of personal issues. I think I've started a walk towards a solution to the personal issues now, and hopefully then to my starting alcohol problem.
