  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

All I can say is wow

I find it interesting that many gay folks think it's NEVER okay to gossip about, snicker at, or roll their eyes at another non-straight person. It's as though the act automatically makes the instigator a hater, a closet queen, non-supportive of LGBT in general, or ashamed/afraid of being themselves.

Thank goodness I'm straight. I can look at another person and say, "They just aint right."

I just don't see it that way. Whether someone thinks the guy in the vid is hot or not, whether they think the guy in the vid has balls for being himself or is acting like a flamer, whether they think the guy is keeping it real or acting like a fool really shouldn't matter. It's just an opinion. It's okay to shrug at something and not be seen as a hater or anti-LGBT. It's okay to love the vid and think the guy is awesome, but that doesn't make you Mr. Gay Superman.

On JUB, it seems that it's NEVER okay to slight any non-straight person. Either be super supportive, or you're a hater.

If I witness a female atty give a weak closing argument, I'll say so. That doesn't mean that I'm anti-female. That I'm ashamed to be a woman. That I think women are weaker than men. It just means that I think she sucked.

And come on, this person has a youtube vid. It's not like he's the little kid in the classroom who's being picked at by his more popular classmates. He purposely recorded himself and opened it up for the world to see. In that circumstance, isn't it okay to give an opinion? I mean, surely he's aware that folks can leave comments on youtube. Give me a break.

Moe Moe, people who don't like him because he's not burping and farting and scratching his nuts aren't really worth much contemplation anyway. Uncle Toms exist in every social group, ours is no different.

Negative attitudes against LGBTs isn't even an issue. In fact, it's such a non-issue that Florida voters got to decide today whether or not to maintain a ban on LGBT discrimination since attitudes towards us are picture-perfect.

Gays like this remind some others of their internal conflictions. Of course, these are the same kinda people who need a warning label on their iron telling them not to touch it when it's hot.

Ah, see that's the part that I find interesting. Is it always that deep?
Why are any and all neg. remarks seen as being a "Tom"? Can't someone dislike something b/c it just doesn't appeal to them? Why must there always be deeper implications?

Or is it never appropriate for an LGBT person to slight another LGBT person? Even on JUB?

I didn't like the vid b/c I think the guy is full of himself. I dislike self important people. That's it.

So then, in your opinion, it really does boil down to, "Your w/ us or against us." LGBT should never have a negative opinion about or display a negative attitude towards another LGBT or they are helping to defeat the "cause."

Of course not. Alpha, you're way smarter than me and if I know that some gays have issues with others who are "too gay", you must know as well. If this video were posted on a black forum, even a gay one, it'd be on page 19 of "Somebody needs to kill this faggot" and "Gays like him give us a bad name" and "Why can't he just act like a man" and "This is why I'm on the DL" even if all he did was look into the camera and say, in a tranquil manner, "Hi my name is Scott."

It's not as bad here but you see it occassionally. I didn't name anyone specifically though, I was speaking in a broader sentence. I'm aware some people might not like his animated persona, regardless of if he's gay, bi, tranny, manny, etc....

For me, going off of NeoSlacker's repeated and previous nasty remarks/comments towards similar subjects (not just B.Scott but feminine guys as a whole) leads me to believe that there are deeper implications brewing loudly underneath the surface.

Oh, are "bitchy" and "queeny" no, nos? See, I did not know that. The words he used don't carry those same implications in my circle, but maybe they do in other circles. To me, the adjectives of bitchy and queeny are used to describe anyone at all who is self important. But, you've taught me something and I will add those words to my "never to be used around gay folks" list just in case it means something different to them. "Breeder" means something totally different in my circle too. I'm sure you're excited to know that.

So, it's okay to dislike the guy b/c he appears self important, but it's not okay to dislike the guy b/c he's bitchy and queeny b/c that could mean to some folks that you dislike him b/c he's fem. and/or b/c he's gay.

I guess it's important to be careful about which adjectives you use to roll your eyes at a person or suggest that you just aren't into them or amused by them or what not. This is definitely useful information. But, I still think that some JUBBERS are quick to attack anyone who dislikes another LGBT member by labeling that person as a closet case or anti-gay. I still think it's okay to say that some folks just aint right.

Isn't ironic that a few malcontents would attempt to attack and critique my comments all in the name of "conformity"? Yet they yell the loudest cuz my views doesn't "conform" with theirs...LMAO!

Miss Neo I was talking about attitudes towards feminine men in general. There's a double standard where (seemingly) masculine men are allowed to be as flamboyant, loud, animated and obnoxious as they want but it's okay because they do it "like a man."

People actually like this assbag. He's being flamboyant in every sense of the word minus the aspect of femininity which is always erroneously compounded. I'm sure some of his fans will watch this vid and think "He shut it down lolz." But if it were a feminine gay doing the same exact thing, same exact words, just with a purse, wig, and limp wrist, they'd be thinkin' "What the fuck is wrong with this faggot?"

I don't know much but I know how niggas think.

There's nothing I love more than seeing two hot bottoms bump purses.

Moe Moe is fierce but Miss Neona know how to throw that Fendi bag around like it ain't cost $1200.

Look past what you see and you'll find that he's got more sense than most our political leaders in the world.

So, which part of it amazed you exactly? The fact that he thinks a law should be passed requiring taxi cab drivers to wear deodorant? Or, was it his take on the Chris Brown incident?

There's nothing wrong with an inFORMED negative opinion. Any kneejerk opinion is no more or less than an emotional reaction.

From my perspective, an informed opinion carries more weight than just... "ick".

Okay. I checked out his website and his twitter "thing" (don't know what to call it). I also looked at other youtube vids. There were no scholarly journals or articles to help me analyze this man, but I think I'm pretty well informed. What exactly is it about this man that is courageous? He just promotes himself over and over again. Sure, he wears lipstick, a wig, and pretty clothes, but so what? Being fem and posting a youtube vid doesn't make him brave, just like being masc. and posting a youtube vid doesn't make anyone brave. And you know, I manage to put on my makeup while driving, signing to the radio, cursing out other drivers, and chatting on my cell phone, so I'm really not impressed.

AntiDoll, another JUBBER, has stated that he wears make up and is somewhat fem. He also has youtube vids. He's just being himself. Does that mean that he's being courageous?

If he'd created a video about life as a transgender/transexual/transvestite or whatever, I'd be impressed. If he posted a video discussing the rights of LGBT I'd be impressed (if it had substance). If he was publicly fighting against society I'd be impressed. But, this guy just wants you to check out his twitter page b/c if Martha Stewart has a twitter page, he needs one too.

I just don't see the wow factor. He seems happy, and good for him. But it isn't praise worthy.

Just my opinion (but now it's informed)--Ick. Maybe that's my age speaking though. I am older.

Moephoenix ~ it tickles me greatly that my presence (coupled with my views) ruffles the feathers in your J.C Penney Club Gown lol. Well I suggest that U GET OVER IT! Cuz my views are unequivocal!

What? So then, you do take issue w/ fem guys. Why is that? And, do you feel the same way about masc. gals? If that dude said the same stupid shit, but was dressed like you, sounded like you, and looked like you, then would you find him more acceptable?
